As it's the morning after the night before (and very little sleep) but our set piece taking is shocking. Sterling was a one man wall and Eriksen still hit him! I said to those around me he'll hit Sterling. He did. We really need to improve set pieces.

On another note winning 1-0 with a clean sheet was crucial. City not scoring an away goal was unexpected. I know a lot thought they would. Just like Dortmund if we can see out the early storm on the pitch 2nd leg. Their fans are crap and so atmosphere won't be great. It's on the pitch we need to stay focused for 90+ minutes.

First time being at a game with VAR was interesting. Waiting for him to give that penalty was interesting. Better at home is VAR because you at least can see what the ref is watching. Didn't even know it was for handball for a while. VAR can help, but it needs some serious work.

Obviously I absolutely love Kane, but we seem to be a little bit more fluid without him because of how we set up. I think we have a good chance of going through.

They have to beat us by two clear goals. Yes they’re clearly capable of doing that, but it also means they have to come at us from the off, which will give us opportunities. I love the fact that we could be 2-0 down with 5 minutes to go, and still just need one goal to go through. Plus keeping the clean sheet will give us a lot of confidence.

Oh and that was such a Sonny goal. Pure determination. Love it!

As he is more involved in the building up of the play, the other players have more freedom to
That's not what makes him a ****. It's Delph standing over him and having a go that makes him a ****. Maybe that makes my stance a little clearer?

Have you not watched any football? Players do this all of the time. Nothing new and unique. You are just mad because it's our player.

We rarely go a game without scoring, and we rarely concede more than two goals.

We failed to score at home literally the last time we played City before last night (1-0 in league). And a turnaround like the two results against City before that - 3-1 and 4-1 - would see us eliminated now. With 2 goals in first leg, two of those three results wouldnt - I think it’s fair to say it was a missed opportunity.

In fact, we failed to score against City, Utd, Chelsea and Palace this season. We have also conceded 2 or more goals 14 times in all competitions this season.

Doesn't matter. You're basically saying, If a RB/LB whips in a cross & it hits someone's arm, it's not a penalty because it wasn't goal bound.

Yes, that is taken into consideration, the new law next season does away with that when handball is handball and a penalty will be be given.

Great win last night only soured by having to listen to some scummy manc on the walk back to the car shouting down his phone, “Yeah mate, they’ve all had a couple of inches chopped off....Yeah, well they’re all f’in yids aren’t they”.

I said we rarely concede more than 2 goals, but admittedly we aren’t doing as well as we were last season. We went on some ridiculous run where we scored in something like over 30 consecutive matches, a chunk of which was without Kane.

I’m not saying this tie isn’t in the balance, just that it’s a pretty decent outcome. It’s obviously a lot better than a draw or 2-1. I actually would have been happy with 0-0. To be in front with no away goal conceded is a great result.

They made more noise and they lost 9 1!

Actually, I think I'm getting my matches muddled up

I'm thinking of the mid-week game we won 3-0 (or 3-1) vs Middlesborough

They only brought 400 fans

I remember standing in the dark, bitterly cold, at the train station afterwards, looking out over Tottenham and thinking the End of Days would feel like this

The atmosphere was INSANE, ears are ringing and voice is pretty much gone...and I sit in a block where there are a lot of people that don't sing.

Just an absolutely fantastic night.

At certain points during the TV commentary, I could barely hear them over the amazing crowd noise. AWESOME. I can't wait to experience it for myself soon. :)

If we are going to try and match City with slick passing not sure we can, sure Poch will not change his principles but why not play Llorente and put pressure on Otamendi with high balls. Being realistic they have outplayed us in the last three meetings so getting to the quarters is a bonus but if Sterling gets a run on Trippier that might be about as far as we get.

Have to apologise to Trips for getting it totally wrong about him , Sterling was kept pretty quiet . Fantastic job by the whole team just one away goal might do it for us next week. The noise was incredible got to keep that up for all our remaining home games.

It was a lot to do with us stopping them getting the ball to him early too. But yeah, trippier did well. No blunders!

Last night certainly proved again how wafer thin our squad is.

Our bench options being Wanyama, Lucas and Llorente while theirs were De Bruyne and Sané.

Makes the 1-0 win all the more impressive, but also makes me worried for the return leg. If they come out at full strength then we could be in trouble especially with Kane out.

The whole scenario stank. Elite football is so corrupt.

I don't blame the ref for giving the penalty as that's how they've been told to officiate. Why they've been told to do it like that is a mystery though. The rules say it has to be a deliberate handball so why are UEFA telling refs that any ball that hits the hand is a foul?

A bit easier to have a bench like that though when you’ve got unlimited money. It’s why UEFA need to crack down on their spending.
