Just came at the wrong time with Sarr, Bissouma and Sonny out and Maddison clearly not ready.

VDV, Udogie, Pierre and Werner played well.
This is it for me. We’ve got players back, but half of them aren’t really 100% and they are back just in time to see three key players go off to tournaments.

Some very good defending and effort.
Missing almost all of our first choice front 6 against best side in europe.

unfortunate we got such a tough draw so early on.
We had one effort in the entire game at home and even that can barely be called a half chance. We had considerably more players missing in the reverse fixture at City and did way, way more in the final third. Likewise against United.

I’m not downing tools and saying Ange out, I’m simply saying it as it is: we were garbage tonight.

Think we definitively answered the question "could we" tonight. True gap in quality on show. I'm not too down hearted after it given the quality of the opposition but that should act as a little reminder to anyone getting carried away that we are a long way from contenders

One team that very rarely gives sloppy passes away under pressure is City. They showed why they are so good on the ball.

I thought off the ball we worked hard and that is a positive. The defensive performance didn't deserve to concede a goal in that manner. It's unlike that defense.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

They had a lot of the ball, but they did pretty little with it. What is more disappointing is that we didn't really give them a game to play at all.

Given the circumstances not at all a bad result. What beat us was our lack of quality in the final third. Kulu needs to go back on the right now Madders is back with Werner on the right and Richy central. Until Biss, Sarr and Son return

They wanted it more. Which is quite disappointing.
They didn't want it more. They have a team of superstars bought from ill gotten gains and 115 charges, playing under pep guardiola for 8 years while we were missing our whole midfield, top goalscorer and 6 months into a project

Yeah I think there's just been too much wrong, performance-wise. Kulusevski poor in the 10, Johnson not great out wide, Bentancur a little off, ponderous in playing out from the back, not seeing Werner's runs near enough etc. All whilst coming up against a good City side.

There were times when I thought if we were better in our decision-making we could hurt them and get a goal or two, but overall I felt we were a little off it tonight. Defended very well though.

Today was where the lack of quality in missing players really showed I felt, but that's just because we were up against a top side really.

Hopefully the wankers will get relegated to the Vanarama League or whatever it's called soon and enjoy doing the Poznan at Eastleigh.

And another trophyless season.

Should be used to it by now - but always frustrating when it comes to pass..

Ah bollox to city, probably be yet another bought trophy
With a cutting edge in the final third we just may have beaten them

Well this has confirmed it, those 115 charges are gonna get them relegated, won’t be the first time a team has won the FA Cup and gone down ;)

We played the world’s best team and we did it without some of our best attackers.

It showed. The rightly won. Fair dos.

The big issue for me is that we continue to look like we’re lacking for threat and ideas in attack. Son and Maddi coming back will help. Also Deki moving to RW can help.

No need to be too negative

Completely disagree. Thought all four of our defenders had a good game.
Pierre was the only one in our midfield performing, was playing like peak Bentancur. Yes he lost his way at the end but he had given everything before that.

would not have scored if we played 600 minutes, but they would not either haven't it been for the blatant attack on vicario. OK You see the episode once the ball is into play, but the manc player handles him before that = freekick or retaken.

Asking a bit much to get anything out of a game where we managed all of 1 shot and 2 corners. Missed Sarr, Son, and a fully fit Maddison. Missed a few opportunities to pay in Werner on the break, same as our last game. We really need to get that connection up and running. Just gutted we got such a pony draw in the cup this year, getting Man City this early was always likely to be a tough ask.

Outclassed tonight, a really poor performance! City deservedly through and the goal was correctly awarded, weak from Vicario and I'm a huge fan. Very disappointed to be honest, so so poor tonight.
We were poor but they were really good and we were missing too many key players, squad depth not quite there yet to beat the best team in Europe missing 3-4 key players.

Missing : Son, Maddison, Biss, Sarr is like them missing: Haaland, KDB, Rodri and B.Silva.

Not that it all stems from the attackers but Werner, Richarlison and Johnson is devoid of creativity and unpredictability. Not overly clever in possession either.
Don’t think that Werner can be blamed too much as he got in good positions several times and then wasn’t passed to.
