I don't know why there is the feeling that a win needs to be 'pure'. Fuck it, we'll get turned over at some point this season and everyone will be chuntering about it. There's no column in the league table for 'moral victories'.

3 points in the bag and I don't care how.

I guess my frustration lies in the fact that we had no idea how to break down eight outfield players, if we want to be finishing at the top end of the table we should be able to break teams down in this situation regardless of the opposition.
I get that but it's still so early into the rebuild and Ange has only had one window and 7 games to change us.
Most teams will struggle to break down 9 players sitting back, so it's no surprise that we struggled, all things considered.

Things have so far been so much better than I thought that they would be, so I'm not going to nitpick over the little things.
We're only going to get better.

4 points from Arse and 'Pool? I'm taking that all day long so early in the season, no matter how we got those points.

Something that will get drowned out in the scouse salt tsunami is they weren’t unlucky

both red cards are red cards. Both red cards are their players showing poor technique and decision making.

Spurs were not at their best today, they were there for the taking. liverpool lost because of poor play, end of story.

One takeway from today's game is that we need to sign a top winger.
Our new style of play makes wingers very important, and we are needing at least one for the left wing
I get now why we wanted Ansu Fati.
Harvey Barnes would've worked for example.

I appreciate that teams will have off days when it comes to creating chances but just not against nine men, we need to be much better.
We should have done better but as soon as we went down to 9, Klopp threw out any game plan to try and win and just put 2 deep defensive lines. A bank of 3 and a bank of 5.

That included 3 quality CBs and they stayed compact.

We struggled to move the parts.

Bissouma was guilty of trying to draw in players so he could glide past them but they werent taking the bait.

The issue is we tried to keep going through the middle and cutting in.

But the answer was to stretch the pitch and hit crises from behind.

You can't really fault players too much as that set up Works in 11v11 situations mostly.

But we had to switch it up and adapt.

Big credit to Porro who realised where the key was and finally stretched play a Bit.

Next time I would put Porro at RWF and Solomon wide left with Deki central and not cutting in cause we kept cutting in where the block was.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

I thought Diaz goal was onside but the remembered, dont they draw the lines from the shoulders? Romeros back leg looked to play him on, but maybe they dont draw the lines from there

To be fair, Luis Diaz goal should've stood. He was onside, or at least it looked like it. They never showed us the lines

Of course they will always defend, i wasn't surprised by that at all but I was just expecting us to create better chances that's all.
'Better' is the keyword and my gripe was also about the quality of it. Crosses going in were not targeted and had no pace. Perisic would be excellent today and no surprised on of our next best crosser of the ball, Porro, got them to score a OG.

Absolute poetry. 3 points - fantastic. To beat them in a game where they got zero breaks and were actually unlucky - superb. To finish it off with an own goal when they thought they had a point - ecstatic. I've longed for that since the CL Final. Now fuck off back to Merseyside and bring on the salty tears!!

One of my greatest wins ever.

I have been waiting a long time for this. We couldnt have scripted a better win. We had 2 player advantage, we couldnt create a chance to save our lives and then they decide to bang one in for us instead 😂😂😂😂😂😂

This type of win is so much better and sweeter than a 6 nil hammering.

Absolutely loving it 🤣

It’s like no one seen any United games under Fergie, yes he IMO is the best club manager of all time but he was the captain of the *run of the green.*

Listen, Diaz goal was onside. Anyone remember a certain goal we didn't scored against United? EVERYONE in the ground knew it had gone it but it was chalked off. Sometimes you dont get the rub, it will happen to us again soon no doubt.
