Yeah absolutely there was definitely more than 1 responsible, I just saw Biss jogging back which just annoyed me. As you say Udogie was probably more culpable.
The way we play the full backs are going to get exposed on occasions and Biss and Sarr need to be covering much better.

On their goal Biss could have put in more effort, same goes for Udogie And VDV makes a bad decision to go out, plenty of could have done better on that goal.

Villa tend to turn up against the likes of Man City and Arse, I can’t say the same for us. I don’t think they‘re better team than us or have more quality than us but I feel they have a better mentality.
Guys A&C wanted a little controversy to keep you guys here after the game. He paid me £50 to make that post. If any of you that disagreed with it wants to pay me another £50, I’ll retract 🫣

Made up two more points on Villa and United, Newcastle, Scouse, Chavs and Woolwich are going to be tough games, but football is a funny, old game with no givens.

A CL spot (even if it's a top five one ) is in my humble opinion now ours to lose.

I thought there was 30 mins in the second half where we looked outstanding. PEH and Benta bossed the fuck out of the midfield during that part of the match. Forrest got played off the pitch. Then we slowed up in the the last 15.

It really was night and day, the difference made in midfield at HT. That, and more of the players pressed and worked harder.

Notts I thought were good in periods, and I tip my hat to them for actually trying to play, rather than just parking the bus.

oh and Ryan Yates is such a twat. Imagine being a player whose one skill is being a WUM. If it was a category rating on FM he’d be a 97. Neal Maupay would be ahead of him on 98.

I watched it live and PEH absolutel changed the game.

Yes he had a sloppy moment late on but he changed our tempo and was way better than Bissouma.

Not even close.

He starts over Bissouma against Newcastle.
The challenge with PEH this season is that he looks great when he comes off the bench with his urgency, yet when he does earn a start, he tends to perform below the level of his sub appearances

I thought PEH was really good when he came on, like you say he changed the game. It's a shame he kept giving the ball away when we started to wind down though, not the first time he's been guilty of that.

Was it the hairstyle when he came onr?

Seems there are so many doom merchants always focusing on negative shit.
Every game is difficult, nothing is a given. We came through today with 3 points and few goals.
Appreciate room for improvement always and no issue with being critical tgough let's give it some perspective.

Going forward, big message for Bissouma, Sarr and Udogie.

We cannot carry passengers.

Udogie was at fault for the goal as he failed to track Elanga, it should have been his first thought as soon as he saw Van De Ven have to shift across.

But the pattern after the goal was this.

Screenshot 2024-04-07 at 23.09.56.png

Bissouma and Sarr are both caught napping on the right side and allow Forest to get in between the lines.

Screenshot 2024-04-07 at 23.10.04.png

Bissouma spots it but is still jogging back rather than closing that space down, he tries to make a tackle but because he didn't sprint to cover, he couldn't get there.

Screenshot 2024-04-07 at 23.10.29.png

Bissouma is at least closer to the ball and player.

Screenshot 2024-04-07 at 23.10.39.png

After the ball is released he loses focus and is too slow to spot the player in front. He then realises he has to recover and block the run.

But Sarr hasn't closed the distance and seen the runs from deep.

Screenshot 2024-04-07 at 23.10.48.png

Bissouma has recovered but Sarr totally switches of and does nothing to mark the space on the edge of the area.

This is nothing to do with tactics or players not being good enough. We are conceding chances far too easily because players are not 'at it' when we lose the ball.

Once the players get the message and are quicker to close gaps, we will start to see a more defensively sound team.

But this is why Bissouma and Sarr were hooked, you CANNOT switch off. It is not all about what you do on the ball. Yes, Bissouma was looking lively and good in the final third/build-up but it's totally useless if you aren't working off the ball.

So to summarise we need players to stop having Brain Farts!

You say that, but you've already insinuated that Hojbjerg didn't change the game.

You've immediately made a comment on Hojbjergs mistakes, rather than his influence.

I don't recall him making so many misplaced passes, and I can't find the stats.

All you've done is throw out some passive aggression.
PEH made at lest 5 misplaced passes in over short period of time but when he came on, he mad a strong start and did have a big influence in our win

Udogie needs someone pressing him for his place in the team. Real Danny Rose stuff in the first half. Not sure why Maddison stayed on when Ange substituted Sarr and Bissoumer. He wasn't as good as them in the first half.

Why do we pass to the opposition so often ?

Referee consistency is a joke.

How did blokey not get sent off for pretty much exactly the same incident as what romero got a straight red for? It was higher than Romeros red roo.
How did matey number 2 not get carded for kicking the ball away when one of ours (Sarr maybe?) got a yellow in the last week after poking it away at the touchline.

How did Maddison not get sent off for the punch on Yates?

Because it wasn't a punch? VAR barely did anything about it because there was nothing there.

Thought Roy Keane’s comments about Yates were spot on.

As for it being a punch, I’ve seen it numerous times and can’t tell what’s happened. If Yates doesn’t go to ground afterwards (and like Keane said he goes down way too easily and tries a lot of that shit in an attempt to get players carded) then you wouldn’t think anything of it. Any ‘impact’ seems to be incidental and there is no way anyone can look at that and say with confidence - let alone certainty - that Maddison has punched him.

I thought calling for VAR was ruled as a bookable offence. Wasn't Yates already on a booking?
