Change it for who?

Come on, a few people are saying change this and change that, but the players being suggested have taken part in as many shitshows as the ones on the pitch, so I'd like to know, change it for who, that would actually suddenly transform their performances as well as the teams.

All this bring another player on is just fluff and rot. We need new players, everyone knows that. And until we get them this is what we're going to get, it's not tactics, it's not the manager it's 5 or 6 players carrying the rest.
Disagree. A truly great manger will make the sum greater than the individual parts, just a Poch did for 4,5 out of his 5,5 years at the helm. Or what the likes of Klopp, Guardiola, Potter, Wilder and possibly Rodgers are doing right now. The manager is by far the most important cog in the wheel for a club. Look at Brighton, they are perfectly set up with clear lines of play from the back. They have gone from Hughton playing terrible longball football to Potter who in just a few months has a clear system in place that goes beyond which of his players are actually playing. The same can be said for Liverpool/Man City/Barcelona etc. When a team has a clear philosophy that's ingrained in the core of the team the individual players are not as important as the group as a whole following the plan/philosophy of the manager. Once this is in place, of course, it doesn't hurt to have technically gifted and world-class players, but in the end that is second to the entire system in place. That's why the likes of Mooy under Potter suddenly look like he's a bald Iniesta, while he would be the championship player he really is if he would be a Tottenham player under Mourinho.

The reality is, the squad has been allowed to go to seed.

We might bring on Eriksen or something pick this player for that and on the odd occasion they'll produce something but the regularity of these insipid performances is telling. Over the course of the season, we are a mid-table side at best. This squad needs serious surgery.

I remember an old manager of ours saying the same. ?

Annoying that we get ruled offside and then Brighton scores. I know It’s obvious but it changes the game so much. Brighton being able to play slow and defensively. Need GLC and Lamela for the next 45 mins

We simply have to invest this January. We need changes to the core of this team

I’m not seeing all these tactical problems people keep insisting upon, not today. We’re playing a higher line and that has compressed midfield, bringing the attackers closer to the pivot. Presumably this is because Brighton lack pace in attack.

The problem has not been tactics or formation, it’s been utterly negligent passing from everyone. Pure sloppiness under minimal pressure. There have been countless setups where we look promising and then someone, even Winks, just aimlessly strokes the ball to an opponent. Sort that out and we can score a goal or two.

Agreed. Tactics and personel don't make a jot of difference if we can't do basic things like pass and control the ball consistently.

Somewhere along the line we lost our nerve and play like a team more worried about losing than winning.

One huge difference this season is playing without erisken, it’s like when modric left us, people only realised how vital he was once he’d gone and as shit as Eriksen has been this season because his head is at Madrid, no one can deny that he was our fulcrum of play for the last 3-4 seasons. Add to that today that we are without son and this truely is a mid table team. Barely any of our players would get in City lpool or Leicester or Chelsea teams.

jose tactics are a little negative and it’s hard to get used to the lack of pressing and possession and more long balls but without creative players it’s easy to defend against and boring.

Why are we playing 343 with 2 limited central midfielders? Cmon José how is that ever gonna work. We need to get some creative players on the pitch. We can't dominate the ball against any team at the moment.

Would like to see Lamela on for Lucas. Really fed up of Lucas doing his Defoe impression when all he would do was try and shoot every time he got the ball.

Embarrassing that Brighton actually play better passing football. We dont even play out from the back.

How many more games as a right winger do we have to see Aurier?
The balance is all off, Sissoko is better off further up the pitch but has to cover in every game.

So much to correct and sort.

All to play for 2nd half. Come on boys

Levy: hey Jose, come and manage Spurs. Great salary and an exciting project
Jose: Sounds good I'm in.
Jose: I like the squad, Sissoko is not a CM
Levy: Oh, I forgot to mention, you have to play Sissoko as a CM every game.

How Winks is being scape goated again I will never know. The only player actually putting his foot on the ball and trying to pick an intelligent pass rather than hoofing aimlessly. And assisted our disallowed goal. You lot are fucking weird.

Agree, we knew he would be playing in a one man midfield.
