You reckon that the Archway site is worth a few million at least? Seems a tad optimistic for them to expect that much.
It's not just about land value though, it's inconvenience, loss of earnings during relocation, etc...

IIRC I think I read somewhere we'd already offered them circa £4m in a last ditch attempt to avoid this protracted saga.
On the flip side, re the second hand itk above, I find it hard to believe that Archway's costs thus far have amounted to £700K. That seems grossly excessive. Costs incurred prior to this appeal will have been modest. And as expensive as the services of a QC are, they're nothing like THAT expensive!
Won't the costs include court time as well though? So that factors in the estate overheads, the Judge's wages, expert opinion, the stenographer, blah blah blah....

The oil money no longer exists in its former glory. A mixture of falling prices and FFP has had an effect on that. Not to say some makes its way into the game, but certainly the amount has drastically reduced. In any case we all know the premiere league bubble will burst it's a matter of when not if. Solid foundations are the future and that's what we are buying into (in my mind). State of the art training ground, stadium, if we can sort out transport links this will complete the circle..
Southampton are slightly different in their approach to us, we spend a hefty dollar bringing in our youth at the moment, Southampton really do pick many players up at the grass roots level. I would consider our approach to youth more similar to that of MU's.

Hefty dollar? For who exactly? Certainly not at academy level!

@Lord_Sugar Dear Lord Sugar I hope these inflammatory comments you make don't put us in further danger. Please get your facts right!

@Lord_Sugar Please comment further on how we are causing a delay after the court ruling? I think you find you have been misinformed.

I meant in relation to Southampton. I thought we bought quite a few youngsters, bostock, georgiou, I think we bought the poor lad who had the heart attack (his name escapes me). I'm certainly open to being wrong but I seemed to be reading about quite a few players who came to us for a fee about a season or two ago.

Parret, Rose and Hall were all purchases I believe.

Has Prichard come through the ranks? People are raving about that lad.

Yup, started at West Ham, but been with Spurs around 5-6 years or so. He was part of the team that destroyed Barca a few season back, along with Bentaleb, Winks, Velkovic, Ogilvie, Ball and Onomah.

something in the New stadium thread saying 25th.

No - that was the deadline (given in the court records) for the High Court Judge to make the original decision. But he turned it around in 2 days because there wasn't much to consider.

That should have been enough for any sensible person/Company to give up. Love to know what advice they are being given by their Lawyers. If it is by chance to fight on then they should sue them for poor advice.

Archway is still going to take this to the court of appeal. They are waiting for the deadline to loom and will then only lodge. their appeal. They will then be given a court date for 3 months from now and so the circus continues.

Is that ITK or opinion?

Wrong. They can't take it to the court of appeal unless they are granted leave to appeal first. First there is the deadline for that application to go in. If it does, it is effectively an application for an application. Around 6 weeks later there will be an oral hearing. They won't pass that. Only if they do will it go to appeal. We've won.
