Also very disrespectful to Stoke to say they will throw a Game.

Tony Pulis is good friends with Harry and he always plays to win.

We can complain all we want - it's not going to be re-rearranged. It just seems every time we're fighting for 4th something comes up to make it harder for us. Lasagna-gate, Fulop-gate, and now City and Stoke's ridiculously confusing 'route in to Europe'-gate.

We came through the last one, no reason why we cant battle through this.

That something is called the English Premier leaugue in the person of Richard Scudamore so basically they'll do nothing in the interest of fairness where we are concerned, I just wonder if he'll trot down to the arsenal and put on one of their shirts to tell us like he did last time.

^^You sure? Because before the Stoke Bolton game everyone was saying that whoever wins is in Europe.

That's because they assumed that City will get a CL place, if they don't and they get 5th the next place goes to 6th place.

Stoke - Man City and 4th Spot

Should Stoke lose in the EPL and FA Cup final to Man City they could get Europa next season if Man City secure 4th spot. Thus, they would be incentivised to hand 3 points to Man City by losing which would more or less help City secure 4th spot and as a result ensure Stoke get Europa next season.

Harry Redknapp has called on the Premier League to consider rescheduling the Premier League clash between Stoke and Manchester City.

City and Stoke were supposed to meet at Eastlands in the league on May 14 but that has been put back, as they will now contest the FA Cup final on that date.

Redknapp is concerned the change could affect Tottenham’s chances of securing a Champions League spot as, should Stoke lose the final, they would only qualify for the Europa League if City finished in the top four.

I have spoken to the chairman about it, and we feel the date of it should be changed, for sure”

That means it could actually benefit Tony Pulis’ side to lose the league game against City on May 17.

Redknapp has now requested the fixture is played before the Cup final, saying: "I'm sure Tony Pulis's team wouldn't want to lose any game, but there is a problem with this in people's eyes. It's a bad time to play the game.

"Stoke will try to win but the whole thing will be surrounded by people looking at it, and asking what has gone on if Stoke are beaten, so it's easier if it is played at a different time.

"The Premier League should look at it. I have spoken to the chairman about it, and we feel the date of it should be changed, for sure. It's out of my hands. It's up to the powers that be."

This is all complete bollocks I think. This only applies for League Cup finals doesn't it? I know historically, you get to the Final, you're in Europe if the other team plays in Europe already.

that, I think, is because historically it was normally a team who had qualified for the CL that was in the Cup final

That makes no sense. If Man City finish 5th, they still wouldn't need the FA Cup's qualification spot.

but they would take the FA Cup qualification spot, and not need the 5th place, which would be passed to sixth

We might not be in Europe next season, its an outcome that we may have to face. We have to focus on our games not the other teams

A league place HAS to go to the Europa League.

If City win the Cup and finish 4th, then their Europa place gets passed onto Stoke, Spurs(assuming 5th) would also qualify through league position.

If City win the Cup and finish 5th, their FA Cup Europa place takes precedent meaning the 6th placed team(Liverpool probably) take the league's Europa place.

So assuming City win the Cup then Stoke would need City to finish 4th for a Europa spot and Liverpool would need us to finish 4th for a Europa spot(if they really want it)

Hmmm, I hope 4th doesn't just get you a EL place!! I think you might have slightly confused yourself with all of your calculations there! :)
