Article here from the BBC website, with the images spurs have released of what the CP development would look like.

Intelligent move by the spurs bid to create a concrete picture in the OPLC committee's minds about the legacy spurs would leave.

Levy also really looks to put the pressure on with this comment.
"The original proposal wasn't viable. Of course we are worried about Olympic legacy and we wouldn't be at the final stage of this bidding process if our plans for Crystal Palace were not acceptable. Plus we are talking about three regeneration projects in London - the Olympic Stadium, White Hart Lane and Crystal Palace.

"Would you rather have one big white elephant in the Olympic Park instead?

Levy is saying the original proposal - a 25,000 athletics stadium in the Olympic Park - wasn't viable. So we're building a 25,000 seat athletics stadium in an area which is harder to get to.

Am I missing something?

It says 25,000 but with the capacity to increase it by a further 15,000 and so making it right for major events, world championships etc mind you how likely is it that there will ever be 25,000 people attdending an athletics meeting let alone 40,000.

It's not nearly big enough. With this country's historical love of athletics and calendar of major athletics events we simply must have an athletics stadium that holds at least 60,000 fans. I mean 60,000 is actually an insultingly small for such a magnificent sport in which our glorious country has such a proud history, but it'll have to do.

Richard Keys & Fatima Whitbread are lined up to open it.

Martin Jol will be introductions.

Steve Coppell's agreed to manage the Crystal Palace athletics team...playing in the cadbury's cream egg athletics league.

Don't let Karen Brady see it, she'll try moving West Ham in there.

Yes, he didn't say it wasn't viable, he was saying it wasn't viable as part of our plans. I don't agree with him, I'd have preferred an athletics stadium at the Olympic park. I would have preferred us to build a new stadium near the existing one. You have to ask though, if that were possible, why aren't the ODA doing that rather than trying to find a tenant for it?

Wembley is a 60,000 athletics venue.

However it has never been used as such and there are no athletics events planned. What does this tell you??

FWIW I think the Crystal Palace pics look a shitload better than the original, non-viable 25,000 seat Stratford proposal.

The athletics people really are a bunch of cock-cosies arent they.

Think Spurs should relocate to Guildford and join the other great sports teams we have, the Flames Ice Hockey, Storm Netball team and the Kings Basketball team!

We'd be the envy of the world i tell you!
