What are you expecting.

As a Spurs fan are you expecting good football going forward playing 442 that seems to be the reported 'Tottenham way' so much so we abandon a regimented 4231 AVB system with a plan to dominate possession and got our Tottenham back.

The holy grail of CL football. We achieved once before but go on like were regular players and now whenever we don't achieve top 4 which seems to be often its looked on as failure. Are we conditioned to failure is top 4 the be all or end all.

The fans moan boo complain demand management change...is that what Spurs fans are.

It does baffle me.

It seems whenever we lose a game we need to make significant changes, despite performing brilliantly in the preceding matches

It's like we expect to win every game and there are major problems which need significant fixing if we don't.

Again, baffled

I think we just want to be more competitive and compete for the top prizes and top places more regularly than we do plus we just always seem to embarass ourselves all too often imo.
There is no quick fix but I can't believe we haven't found a winning formula/manager by now all these years of spending and trying to close the gap and we are no nearer what is the answer I wonder.

No problem with yesterdays result. we lost to a better team. at least we had a go and we were attacking we we got the opportunity. We used to say at least when we lost we played attacking football and was the case yesterday. I moaned about our style of play when avb was in charge and did nt really look forward to games. At least now I know we will have a go at scoring 3 of 4 in game even if we lose

I think qualifying for the CL has heightened expectations amongst some of our fans to unrealistic levels. We don't have any God given right to finish in the top 4 and with the money that we spend in comparison to our rivals, we consistently punch above our weight.

Having said that, I do think the squad has been and is good enough to finish in the top 4 so I think that has to be the aim. There just seems to be an incredibly fine line between joy and a full on meltdown if we finish 5th or happen to lose a game.

It is absolutely amazing.

If people were adamant that this 442 wasn't going to work then at least hold that position from the beginning. Don't just become a naysayer as soon as we lose one game.

I've said all along that I don't believe a traditional 4-4-2 is the best formation and also that it is a bit dependant on opposition. Like yesterday we know Arsenal always play with 5 neat passers in midfield and then it would be difficult playing 4-4-2.

If we had played a bit more clever, like ade or soldado dropping down more When opposition has the ball, then I Could easily played 4-4-2, but atm I think we play a very traditional 4-4-2 without a lot of pressing from our two forwards.

I support our manager, and if he can Get the results with this formation, then fine by me - but I wouldn't done the same myself. But I guess it's many weeks and Even many months before we can see the full extent of Tims strategy...

With the financial clout of Manchester Arsenal Chelsea and Liverpool, we cannot realistically demand CL football every season. All I want is for us to at least be challenging for those spots come May. This has been the case since Arry's first full season in charge and this season we look like we will again be at least challenging for 4th spot even if we don't quite get there.

Add to that a good cup run in one cup (to demand all three is unrealistic) is what I'd expect but again that would depend on getting a bit of luck with the draws along the way. This season the Europa League looks like being our good cup run, hopefully.

Above all though, I'd like us to play some nice attacking football. It's the reason I support THFC in the first place and to keep that trend going would be lovely.

What I don't expect is to be so (bored/uninterested) in our matches anymore which was the case the majority of the first 3-4 months of this season.

I've never been to a game at WHL but I have been supporting the club since I was 11/12 which is now 18 years and in that time the clubs has been more mediocre than the short flirtations it has with being a successful club or how often it has been on the cusp of reaching the next level. Now I can only comment on how I feel but as a fan watching from the TV I am frustrated with what seems the be the general cycle at the club of false dawns and I can only think that for the fans that have ST and have been going regularly to games for the last twenty years how incredibly frustrated they must be.

Anyway we began the season believing this was the year but half way through we are now again beginning a transitional season. I would like to think the club would win something, a league cup, an FA Cup a Europa Cup, to win something that restores a bit of glory. But we all do is aim for fourth and fail.

I suppose that is as about as much I could possibly hope for.

The last paragraph is the best.

How did we manage to have the majority of the possession if the scums passing and extra midfielder allowed them to control the game so much?

We didn't until they scored their second, realised we werent posing any threat so dropped back and let us muck around with the ball with next to no penetration.

When you keep finishing 5th, then yes you can feel aggrieved when you fail to finish 4th. Consistent 5th place finishes is stagnation, not progression.

We want to play Barcelona, not the third placed kazakhstani team that you can't pronounce.

Wanting Spurs to finish 4th is highly logical, as is being disappointed when we don't make it.

Problem is how do we get there or better challenge for the title as it seems everything we try ends in failure and or embarrassment.
