Hello mates

I read Gus Poyet said that they will start rebuilding for next season starting from next game. I think some of our youngsters could be involved instead of players with uncertain futures likes Cerny, Lee, Rocha, Chimbonda, Bent etc.

looks like Ramos will give some of our youngsters a bit of first team experience to see them if they can develope or not. Likes Gunter, Archibald, Dervitte Maghoma, Boateng, Rose, Taraabt, Pekhart

I think that's doesn't mean these players won't play for us again, but it may be they will be given a chance to play in big games like Chelsea in Wed.

so, I think line-up against Man City:

Robinson

Hutton - Woodgate - Kaboul - Gunter

Lennon - Boateng - Huddlestone - Taraabt

Keane - Pekhart

bench: Cerny, Zokora, O'Hara, Rose, Berbatov

i expect Chimbonda, Jenas, Malbranque & Bent to be rested for Chelsea game.

your thoughts ?

best regards.

My thoughts? I would like us to win, handsomely. So naturally I'd start a kid who's struggled for goals in the reserves ahead of Bent. :duh:

But even O'Hara doesn't looked important player for reserves and almost join Millwall in permanent deal

While Pekhart started U20 or U21 for good country in football, it could worth to try and give him a chance to prove his worth like any other player.

If that is the strating line up tomorrow i will eat next doors dog's dinner.

However I do like the way that you will rest 4 players on Wednesday who aren't playing tomorrow and in Bent's case will have played a total of 90 minutes in 2 and a half weeks, poor lad must be shattered.

How about giving Bent the chance to prove himself? He has hardly played a lot of football so dont think he needs the rest.

I think these youngsters should get the chance, like Pekhart, Taarabt and Rose, but from the bench. Bring them on in the second half if we are doing well, lets not chuck them in the deep end and see if they sink or swim.

Which shows how carefully you've followed Eddie's reserves reports over the last couple of seasons.

U21? So what?

Bent is in desperate need of games and has had very few opportunities. If any player needs to prove his worth, it's him. We also have a Brazilian international LB who needs games, but you prefer Gunter. And Taarabt starting at LM? Bong at CM?

Fortunately, Ramos has shown no sign of being clinically insane.

Sorry, but some weird ideas here........ Eek

Rest the ones that need it, play the ones that need it.

Don't make wholesale changes for the sake of it - there is still a massive amount to play for, yet

Momentum going into next season. If we finish winning 8 of our last 10 games it will be the ideal way for the players to leave knowing that things are moving in the right direction and leave that positive vibe going into next season. If we experimented to much and lost 6 or 7 of our last 10 games that won't give anyone the right impression about where we want to be as a team.

I want us to win as many of our last 10 games as possible and I am bit surprised that everyone else on here doesn't feel the same way. :?

What SS57 wants is for Spurs to bounce back and totally muller City. So let's forget about Mickey Mouse FM line-ups, shall we?

Momentum counts for nothing when you have a 3 month break. Look at liverpool the season before last. Finished SO strong (so much so that i thought last season they would have a great chacne at the title) but last year started so so shit and blew there league chances within the first 3 months of the season.

I read some reports in official site, but sending him on loan to league one side at this stage of his career meant we are almost selling him. you can look at Comolli/Ramos comments after the end of transfer window about how 'surprise' recall for O'Hara to first team.

I'm sure if it wasn't Ramos, he will fellow likes Charlie Lee etc ..

so, if you think O'Hara performances in reserves played a role in his current appearances, why Barnard didn't do it here and why he joined league one side either.

it was just expectation because Poyet hinst about building for next season. Also, we played 120 mins against PSV on Wednesday and we have more important game than Man city on Wed. .

Apart from the cash, we need to show we have the willingness, momentum, personnel and desire to improve, as a club.

All highly important, IMHO, to attract the players we need.

'Muller City'? Cant see that happening even if we play our strongest team!

Not saying we should play all the kids but maybe 1 or 2. Then 1 or 2 on the bench?

They're missing Richards, Hamann, and Petrov, and very likely Dunne—and even if he does play he'll probably be struggling. Seems the perfect opportunity to take them apart to me, and if Bent can find his shooting boots it'll do him the world of good. Gilberto needs games, too—otherwise what was the point of signing him? Doesn't O'Hara count as a youngster any more?

Taarabt and Bong on the bench is fine by me. Kaboul is doubtful anyway.

Rose should get a game me thinks.

It does?

If we'd known Defoe was off Barnard might still be here.

Bent didn't. Lennon didn't. O'Hara didn't. Gilberto didn't even make the trip. And Poyet was talking about players justifying their being retained for next season.

I'm with SS57 on this one. We need to get a decent result against Man City. The PSV game would be enough to rip the heart out of any team and so we have to inject some confidence in the squad. The way to do that is to make sure we get a good result against Citeh. And the way to do that is to field a strong team. We'll have preseason to tinker with the squad (as long as preseason is used as a training exercise for the squad and not a marketing activity)
