Unless you have been stationed on Mars for the past couple of years, Then you would of noticed that ever since we ditched our ill fated director of football approach that our transfer activity has slowly grinded to a cumbersome and somewhat frustrating halt, It seems gone are the day`s where we were snapping up young players like Modric before the window had opened and now we wait with anxiety till the end of the transfer window to see who Mr levy has snarled for 2 bob, Fuelled on by his capture of VDV for a small and tidy sum.

It used to be spend, spend and more spend, I remember thinking "where is all this dough coming from?" Now it seems as if the well has dried up and one has to wonder if we really have a pot to piss in (do we Mr Levy?). When AVB comes out and say`s that basically the Modric money is going on a striker and seemingly nowt else it makes me feel a little crushed. I mean if we knew that we did not have money then it`s a case of oh well it is what it is, But Levy is parading us around like we have a few bob, Comments like "We don`t need to sell our star players" And Modric aint for sale for any money (unless you are Real Madrid and you want to give me £26 million plus add on`s).

Imo I doubt very much if we have money available to give Avb so he can make this team his own. In all our recent manager changes they have all been given money to build the squad, With the exception of Jol who had players bought for him, But the point remains that money was given to improve the squad, Juande had it and so did Harry and yet here we are into the new season and once again we are poorly prepared and once again a first day defeat. I know I am being a little pre-emptive here as we still have 2 weeks before the window shuts, But who really thinks that we will get Leandro,Ade,Mouts,Lloris or even Llorente?? I think we will secure the signing of Ade and that will be it and we would of given our most talented manager fuck all to work with money wise!! How very Tottenham Hotspur of us....One step fwd and a big leap back!

This was supposed to be the season that we grew up and really put our cards on the table and showed that we were moving away from Harry and his triffic 4-4-2 and what do we do give the job to someone who has a point to prove and a manager who could really take us somewhere and then we tie his hands behind his back....Come on Levy prove me wrong....Please!!

We need to sel to buy, simples! Modric out we will then see some money spent. There is nothing new here, absolutely nothing.

If we finally end up with just Ade then i will find it hard to understand why that wasn't sown up well before we got to the first game.

So in reality selling modric buy`s you what?? Mouthino with-out a striker or vice versa? I mean we have numerous players on our books that should be shifted that would boost the transfer kitty yet no one is interested? If we do really need to sell before we buy then why aint we selling??

We'll also be a selling club we have a 36K stadium. Bale will be the next big name to leave against our wishes but we need to except our position in the food chain.

The scum have a 60000+ and yet I dont see them holding on to rvp etc....Having an extra 24000 in your ground wont make no difference..Money and ambition keep hold of your best players, The former it seems we have none of ( compared to chelski, man city etc) and the latter? Well that is pretty subjective at the moment.

He sold Corluka, Kranjkar, Pav, Pienaar and we got in Vertonghen and Siggurdson.
Vertonghen to replace King and Siggurdson for Modric. We don't have any money. I think it's going towards the stadium.

Hence why we need to sell before we buy. I can see why there are so many hold ups such as Lloris.

What are you going on about. We bid 16 mill for that uraguay lad and 30 mill for Soldado. We haven't made 46 mil from any departures. The money is there.

Is that the same 30m we bid for Rossi last year yet we can't give Adebayor a larger signing on fee? People need to stop believing everything they read.

avb said signing a striker was NOT dependent of the sale of modric, it was about getting the right deal for the club.

Vertonghen was overlooked for Gallas, the oap, Sigurdsson replacing amodric is like replacing a Ferrari with a fiat ad there's no replacement for Adebayor. Considerably weaker, cost us at least one point today, probably three and we all know what that extra point meant last season! Yep, the difference between us pretending we have ambition and actually having ambition I imagine.

Because Levy wants to get as much money back on his players, I hate people talking about "dead wood" we have "dead wood" that cost us around £30M, its not peanuts. We have already bought 2 players so we have spent money, the top top players demand top wages which we simply can't afford to pay, its time people realised it and stopped moaning because until weget our stadium its not going change.

Donki ,

"until weget our stadium its not going change"

First it was until we qualify for Europe we will invest .
Then after we qualified for Uefa it's when we qualify for the CL
Then after we qualified for the CL but the club still did not invest .

Even when we have got our new stadium it will be the same story , no real investment , just enough success on the pitch to fill it .

There is jam tomorrow and the false promise of jam tomorrow .

Is that the same Uruguayan player that might be about to sign for Southampton? If so we are now getting gazumped by Southampton on transfers? The Soldado story don't have leg`s either imo because if the money is there then it should be spent by now. Simple fact about money, When you need something and you have money then that allows you to buy it when you need it, If you don't have money and you need something then you go with-out until such time that you have the money. I think that investment is being poured into the stadium and naff all else really.

"until we get our stadium it's not going to change"

How has that new stadium malarkey helped Arsenal keeping their best players, signing world class players and winning silverware regularly ?

A bigger stadium with more corporate power is one piece but it's not the holy grail
