Not so much of a silver lining BOF they will most certainly arrange a PL fixture for that day as they always have.

PL Teams in the FA Cup:

1. Arsenal
2. Chelsea
3. Liverpool
4. Manchester United
5. Portsmouth
6. Middlesbrough

PL Teams available for a fixture:

Teams in bold that we havn't played Twice

Everton x2
A Villa x2
Man City
Blackburn
West Ham
Newcastle
Reading
Bolton
Birmingham
Wigan
Sunderland x2
Fulham x2
Derby x2

well you might be right Chuba - but what would be the point?- it would almost certainly not be to our advantage - so why would we agree to it?

There's no fixtures planned for that day, and apart fron the Chelsea game all our other games are in the calendar, can't see the point of moving one of them!
I'm sure JR willl be pleased to have a mini break!

More to the point, have we ever done it before? I don't believe we ever would nor would any other club want to. IIRC most teams, if not all, just take a week off

anyone of you going down the "being beat was a blessing in disguise" route, are just as bad as all the excuse-making gooners who we all have been ripping the shit out of all week, with their "4th priority, Champions league and prem is our main concerns" bull-crap.

Dont lower yourselves to that level, people. we are better than that

I can't see any silver lining when we lose, particularly in cup comps. One less chance for glory and less revenue.

You're right. Losing is a huge black cloud. There's nothing good about losing. I wish we had won. But we didn't. There it is.

All I was pointing out is that there could be a small benefit in terms of fixture congestion to be had from being out of the competition. Possibly more relevant as reports (well the Daily Mail) now say that Ramos has been told that Ledley King will only be able to play one in three games from now on.

As above.

Probably. Just so we're clear, I was saying it BEFORE the game. I'd rather get knocked out in the 3rd round than the semi-final, you've essentially wasted your time and energy if you don't at least get to the final.
