I can confirm that there is indeed dialgoue ongoing, regarding the potential sale of the club. We are at a stage considerably further down the line from simply specualtive engagement, there does seem a credible chance that a deal could be acheived.

Obviously i cannot name the parties involved, suffice to say uber rich would be like calling Roman Abramovich 'a man with a few quid'.

For those who doubt me, so be it. But I work in the murky lega world and so this information does come with the utmost credibility.

Anyway I am off to have my Sultana Bran Flakes.

Not sure how I feel about the sale of the Club.

There's part of me that doesn't want us to join the Billionaires Club as I think Levy runs our Club very soundly as a business, but it's also getting the stage where I think if we don't sell to the super rich we're gonna get left behind.

Who cares, lets buy some serious talent, and throw stupid money around for a few years and see how we do.

ANYTHING would be better than the very current situation we are in!!!

Mystery billionaire interested in Spurs

It's be widely reported that an Asian billionaire is interested in buying Spurs .

Anyone know whether theres any truth in it or who it is ?

If Levy wants circa 400m then he better do a deal soon before the bubble bursts on another one of his investments .

I would be slightly sad to lose Levy as we are such a well run business now, but we need to also realise that we are a football club, and to squeeze an extra 3m at the last minute out of a transfer isnt always the best option.

I've merged this with the other thread as it's all speculation concerning pretty much the same thing

Thanks for passing on the info.

Its all about how much we want success and when we want it. We can be successful under the current regime. We're doing everything right by signing the best young talent in Europe. But we haven't been doing this for a very long time, and theres been too many changes over the years to manager and players. So its still going to take time to succeed. But we will get there in a few years (regular Champions League Football) if we keep consistency and dont keep changing things.

The only way we're going to be successful in the near future will be to splash the cash. We've all been waiting far too long now to see the Club reach the top, so i can understand those who would accept u buying our way to the top. We've had 3 good-ish years now. But if we're going to crack the top 4 in the short term, then we will only do so with Man City like money.

The most important thing for me is we get the right owners if Daniel Levy sells up. Luckily, i have faith in Daniel Levy and think he will only sell to the right person. So i'll support Daniel for whatever he wants to do with the Club.

If true, ideal scenario would be:

Gazillionaire buys all the shares, recapitlises pumping massive money into the club without burdening it with substantial debt.

Builds an extention of the tube to WHL, redevelops the existing stadium to compete attendance wise, with other clubs, but without a significant increase in ticket prices.

Allows a substantial transfer budget, but retains a solid financial base, as a consequence of the recapitalisation of the shares and the increased attendance.

Continue the charity side of things, and invest heavily in the youth set up as well.

If I had squillions, that's what I'd do.

The reality will be far, far different I suspect.

It's the Sultan of Brunei, based on the Sultana Bran Flakes reference.

Would a billionaire even guarantee us success nowadays? I mean, it would increase our chances of silverware, but there'd still be a lot of competion from other clubs.

And who's to say that more billionaires wouldn't buy other Premier League clubs?

A rich sultan of some kind, is the only clue I can see.

Still, would be nice for us not to haggle over a few million quid and suffer because of it.

Mind, saying that if Levy wants 400 mill, he may hold out for 405 mill, and lose out.

Exactly, it is soon going to be a billionaires playground.
20 billionaires fighting it over with their clubs. But at the end of the day, only 3/4 clubs qualify for champs league and 3 still need to be relegated.

It may not do anything for us.

And then he'd write a rather strong letter of complaint to OPEC!
