Felt somewhat inevitable that he'd have a rocky start. Been a lot of hype about his Ryder Cup record - was always tempting fate when you consider he's not one of the more in-form players in the team.
Every time Sky show a major golf event (which is a lot) they really spoil the first day by going overkill on the grandiose super slo-mo VTs and trying to force a narrative by focusing on a particular match/individual, and thus largely missing the action developing naturally elsewhere.
It's never until the second day that they start to let the action dictate their coverage.
Bjorn and Kaymer having a stormer and all we're seeing is the winning putts.
as the local man, Gallacher is really looking out of his depth at the moment...struggling to par holes let alone birdie them...poults is off colour too...three down already
hindsight a wonderful thing but it was a strange pairing...relying on poults to find old magic despite recent form and a rookie, who looks to have been picked to play on basis of the home crowd
first point on the board...a fairer mtch up this am would have been rose and stenson v spieth and reed, poults nd gallcher v watson and simpson...would hve provided genuine contests between sublime and ridiculous
few of our players are in form so far...only rose and stenson...keymer and bjorn blew their match...rory has been biggest disappointment so far...barely found a fairway, green or a putt
