Just hope Vio's genius is enough to put this guy exactly where Kane's free kicks will end up after ricocheting off the wall.

This was picked up a few days ago when it looked like he was heading to Forest.
Assume Atalanta need some funds and he's been told he's going. I get the sense he'd be happy to rotate so it may not be a bad shout, but is his level of fitness good enough for Conte?
Bergamo is a lovely place so can imagine its a bit of tough wrench.
And North London isn't?

I've watched a ton of Atalanta in the past 4 years, they were the most enjoyable team in Europe to follow as a neutral just because of Gasperini. Malinovskyi is a quality player and he has an absolute cannon of a shot (I don't think many strike a ball harder in world football), but he isn't the type of player that runs the game from midfield. He's a CM but ends up playing further forward because he doesn't operate in a box to box role like Freuler/De Roon/Koopmeiers, really he just doesn't do much on the defensive side of the field and Atalanta are so attacking that they can't afford to have that in CM. So he ends up playing more of a free role, behind Zapata and sometimes Muriel.

He is good technically, rocket of a shot, decent passing range. Vision is average, work rate is good (he presses, just not a defense first minded player and not a true 2 way CM in that sense). I think he'd probably play in a fluid front three for us, or give us an option to play 3-5-2 with one CM that can actually attack and to a lesser extent, create.

Should also note he is a Ukrainian international, and while Zinchenko runs the show from midfield, Malinovskyi is generally the attacking outlet for them in the middle.

Malinovsyi is not just about brilliant strikes.

I am more interested in how he is being used by Shevchenko for Ukraine & see a lot where we can find use for him. At Atlanta , he was primarily an impact sub. For Ukraine, he runs the midfield with Stepenanko & Zinchenko. He is the creative hub in their 4-3-3.

2 months back, Ukraine demolished Scotland in the WC Qualifiers - They played very good passing football & Malinovskyi was at its heart - while Zinchenko recieved the plaudits, Malinovskyi was the engine room

For us, he can play the no10 role or no8 role. If we need someone to drive the team forward from midfield & run the game, he can do it. Ofcourse, he has that thunderbolt left foot.

Always had a really powerful left-footed shot myself, get me anywhere inside 30 yards and I'm shooting. Anyone in a similar mould always ends up being one of my favourite players, sign him up! Nothing better than a powerful long-shot goal imo, it's a shame they happen less and less in modern football.

We could do with that option when we're against defensive teams we are struggling to break down.

We’ve got Ukrainian refugees living with us at the moment and I’m really getting into Borscht in a big way. ??

So for that reason I’m in.

So he would give us plenty of tactical flexibility?

Just look at how deflated the Olympiacos players looked after he hit and scored this goal. No. 40 & 15 just look so demoralized

Yes, from what I have seen of him. Also, Gasperini specifically uses when he needs to change things. He can run the midfield if required (as a 8). if we need a forward minded CM or CAM, he can do it.
Other than this, - His crossing accuracy is one of the highest. Takes corners, free kicks & pens if required.

Always thought he was very underrated because of his insane technical ability when striking a ball. He’s a very talented player, all be it a niche one. That being said, I’m not sure how he would fair in the pl. I guess for me I was hoping we would be adding players with better ball carrying ability and passing range. Dribbling isn’t much of a forte for him because he’s not the fastest (not that he’s got bad control) also while he’s a good passer I wouldn’t say I’ve ever seen him excel as a playmaker. I guess in general tho I would be worried he’d struggle with the pace of the PL. Incredible long shots as has been mentioned several times and that would be fun to see, but I think he’d be another bench option rather then someone pushing for a starting spot. Although he has played IF I certainly wouldn’t want to see him out on the wing in our set up leaving him to a more central roll in a cm 3. All together a potential astute signing considering his likely low price and an interesting addition who will hopefully contribute some wonder goals but Im not sure he would be my choice as much as I do like him.

Never hear of him, but I do love a midfielder who can score from long range and so now I really want this to happen…… which probably means it will get shot down by the morning :D.

I do also wonder what the rest of his game is like based on the fact that he apparently isn’t a regular at Atalanta, even though he’s in his late 20’s.

He’s like a created player on a footy game where you go shooting and power 99 and fuck off everything else.

So I immediately love him.
