Levy is a businessman first and foremost, he's not going to just spunk £x million cos he wants Soldaldo on his shirt. I'd imagine that Levy is the one who has told Baldini to come home immediately and that its a "take it or leave it" offer to a club who desperately need the money.

Baldini strolls in there knowing that if they demand €30mil upfront you just walk out saying that our final deal was given last night, we thought this yes either a yes or no, i'm off to London so call me when you're ready to deal.

Hoping this is just Valencia standing firm and with a bit of posturing deal will be done

If however Daniel screws this one up, then I think I might be done with him - Ive been a big supporter of his over time but this would be bordering on incompetence - to lose out on a player that wants to come, your manager wants, and is a massive upgrade on what we have for the sake of €4m

Is everyone under the impression that they don't have phones in Valencia or something? Just because Baldini isn't there doesn't mean we can't do a deal.

If we've offered 26+4 and they want 30 then I'm pretty sure we'll get there.

Think there are twitter reports that his agent has said Baldini has returned to London with no deal.
It just sounds to me like a report regarding yesterdays meeting that Baldini left without a deal being reached. I'm not sure where they're getting him leaving Spain from though. I expect he will stay out there to enter any further discussions.

Baldini does not need to be in Spain for us to buy the player. We never had an agreement last night, they had called a meeting (a pre-arranged meeting where the deal and other business would be discussed) why would they cancel that meeting? I think this has all come about from the fact that Baldini has gone home.

They will discuss it, they will then phone and say whatever they want to say and we will respond etc etc. This is how multi-million pound negotiations are conducted.

Somewhere in North London theres a small but powerful bald bloke, having an overseas conference call.

Some poor and desperate Spanish blokes, who need the money far more than they can afford to lose the deal are trying to persuade DL to meet their valuation in full....

Unfortunately for them the only response they are getting is the sound of scratching finger nails on a blackboard.....
Meanwhile, in the northwest, there is a smelly band of bindippers lurking.

This isn't gone end well is it.

Ryantegan's comment above and a fair few Spanish journos on Twitter (leaks are commonplace with Valencia, nothing gets past the journos). The links were in this thread earlier. Read back.

Desperate times if you are relying on twitter

Right, regardless of what will actually happen, let's take a look at this. Last night we had everyone and their grandmother reporting live and direct from the meeting. Photos, marshmallows round the campfire, singsongs. The whole shebang.

Now we have this article and some random hurdy gurdy guy.

Apart from that, no multiple sources, no direct quotes as everyone was seemingly desperate to give yesterday evening. Nothing.

I'm not saying we don't miss out on Soldado, but take a deep breath for now and wait for something more concrete.

Fair enough we're in a position to haggle the fee down to what we want to pay, but I really don't want this deal to drag on. It's best getting him asap for a few pre-season games instead of throwing him in the deep-end in the NLD because we waited to the last few days of the window to sign him him at lower fee.

No issue with Levy playing hard-ball to a degree, BUT we might need to keep a careful eye on Liverpool...

To be honest not fussed about Liverpool at all, however we might have to keep careful eye on Arsenal as Higuain seems to be signing for Napoli and Chelsea as they missed out on Cavani. Pool? They're probably not even in market for striker unless Suarez leaves and that one is not on the pipeline.

If its a case of finer details then am sure we can get this sorted pretty quickly with a little adjustment of the terms

If Levy offered 26+4 last night and then came back with 21+4 this morning then we have burned our bridges, Spanish men don't like being made mugs of

Twitter suggesting we lowered our fee as we heard Valencia had lined up a replacement.

Cannot believe it's true. That would be a dick move.
