Pass matrix on Spurs website shows how little Gareth was involved, assume they are successful completed passes , I know Gareth didn't complete the game but pretty low total
Toby ----- 48 passes
Gareth----15
Eric -------47
Matt ------38
PEH-------57
Harry----- 25
Tanguy----26
Sergio-----52
Moussa--- 31
Sonny-----34
Hugo -----14

Man of match for passing PEH.
For all passes, until 78th minute Bale made 26 passes, Kane made 31 passes and Son made 29. So he wasn't involved less than the rest of our attack, and successful passes means he tried harder passes, not the easy one

It did seem a low total so the matrix is only showing the completed successful passes to a team mate and not more ambitious passing , basically the matrix on the website tells us nothing you wonder why they bother with the stats, only one that really matters is WBA 0 -- Spurs 1.

Average performance from the boys but literally no game in the league is easy. West Brom got a draw against Chelsea, sure they're one of the weakest teams but if we're not 100% at it then there is no guarentee we blow away any team in this league and these teams fighting for their lives with 5 at the back are never easy games. It was a fairly nervy game because of the importance of the 3 points but aside from Hugo save and Dier clearance which was phenomenal btw, we controlled the game in terms of big chances and deserved the win.

6's all round apart from Dier who gets an 8, Hugo 7 and Kane 7 for the winner.

Great 3 pts.

First half was poor, a wasted 45 minutes. Overall slow and disjointed but ground out the win which is the sign of a Mourinho (and a title winning) team. The fixtures from after the International break to the first week of January, when we’ll play City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Leicester and Wolves, will tell us where we stand top 4 wise for the season.
Gave MOM to Kane as he was best of the forwards, kept at it and got the winner(his 150th PL goal) but overall Holjbjerg was the best player in the field - he’s been an absolute steal for us. Another clean sheet, the CBs were outstanding.

I thought Dier was fantastic in the first half and solid in the second. Damning that our defender was our best player particularly in the first

I wont give a rating this time but Dier was MOTM for me

Bale shouldn't be starting ahead of Moura, Lamela or Bergwijn right now. He's too much of a passenger. I'm sure he'll rediscover's his magic because he's still fairly young but right now he's detrimental to the team.

The others, for all their criticisms, much of it unfair imo, at least get involved, and make space for other players even when they're having off games. Bale just seems really anonymous.

I also think Doherty shouldn't start ahead of Aurier. Serge is more dynamic imo, but this is less of a problem because Doherty is functional if not spectacular.

Hojbjerg is the glue that knits this team together, the Athletic article hit the nail on the head "a captain without the armband"
What I had t paid much attention too before today was how good his first touch is. He’s so deliberate with it and today it set his next one perfectly. I was sceptical when we signed him but, so far, he’s showing how much I know! Keep up the great work PEH

Great win but an uninspiring performance. Sissoko was simply awful, when he is this bad it is not hard to understand why we look so poor in the midfield. Son and Bale just didn’t do enough with Son in particular having a poor game.

Dier and a Toby both solid although we’re lucky early on when they let Grant sneak in between them and probably should have scored. Reguilon and Doherty both steady performances. PEH really put himself about but him and Sissoko is an uninspiring midfield duo, need to get Le Celso onto the field more, he Is a class above in the midfield.

Not Kane’s best game but a priceless goal and on a poor night that bit of quality from Doherty and Kane was the difference.

Awkward game however very good signs we can win and keep clean sheets without playing great.

A few observations, Sissoko when we're in possession restricts our flow but does offer athleticism / cover / recovery / discipline. In big games he is needed but not in all games for me.

Ndombele I thought played well but I'd love to see him much more on the ball a bit deeper, he has such a picture already crafted in his head and is two steps ahead.

Alderweireld. I have been very critical of him but can't argue with clean sheets. I still believe Sanchez with Dier long term is better balanced.

Dier. Mourinho has given him time, and it's showing. Much more dominance and leadership as a CB now...very impressed with his development. There is hope for Dele Alli.

Hojbjerg. Better player than I thought.

One nil to the Spurs and 3 points secured. Much needed as after the international break we have top teams to play so need all the points possible.
Dier probably motm and so glad to say that. At times I have felt the only one supporting him over the last couple of years. Unlike most I have always considered him to be an intelligent player with real potential as a defender. Glad to see him over his illness, injuries etc.

Dier (Motm) and Hojbjerg did their jobs perfectly. If it were Sanchez and Winks instead of them I am 100% certain we would concede, probably more than one goal. Kane was solid, drew plenty of fouls from them and won us the game, just don't let him take free kicks. Reguilon and Doherty improved in second half, Lo Celso was pretty good but missed a sitter. Ndombele unlucky not to have assist or two but he missplaced some easy passes.

Dier or PEH were our best. Both were impervious.

Son, Sissoko and Bale were very poor.
'Impervious' Like it.
can also refer to male and female contraceptives
and rubber under sheets
but I still like it
when applied to defenders.

Dier was fucking immense.

Not sure what has happened with footy. In my day the last 3 results would have been touted as great grind out wins and the sign of a title challenger. ?
