I thought Kulu was immense today. Kudos to Gil and Gio after being on the fringes, they were 2 and 3. And Vic shouldn't be forgotten, he was great too.

Porro MOTM for me.
Gio and Deki close behind
Udogie next
Bentancur was looking great, such a shame.
Gil had been having his best spell of the game when brought off.
Johnson was hit and miss.
Probably get pelters but would have preferred Dier to Royal. With better organisation their first goal might have been avoided.
Son was poor, nothing he did came off and he just has can't stay onside

Vicario is great. That save in the first half where he wanted to retain possession so palmed it perfectly onto the post so that it rebounded back into his midrif was incredible skill. He made some other good saves too.

What? :cautious:

I'm only taking positives from that game. (Injury aside)
Make shift all over the park yet created at will against a supposed top organised team.
Wasteful in the final third with finishing and final balls for tap in's but play like that first half and you'll win 9/10 times

Team (understandably) faded but will have more in the tank going forward.

GLC MoTM. Always showing and using the ball progressively.

Googs 7 (could he of done better for Watkins goal?)

Porro 8 - played some fantastic passes
Royal 7 - coped admirably in an unfamiliar role
Davies 7
Udogie 8 - monster, not even at his best

Bentancur 8 - ran the game until he was taken out
GLC 8 - ran out of steam
Deki 8 - should’ve scored, but a constant threat

Johnson 6 - some odd decision making and crap final ball
Son 6 - millimetres from a getting a couple of goals (either offside or that header)
Gil 5 - worked hard, but ultimately wasteful and feeble

Subs
Hojberg 3
Skipp 4
Veliz 5

First half was as good as we have played this season, should’ve been home and dry. Nasty piece of work Matty Trash takes out Bentancur and changes the game because Højberg was absolutely dreadful
Very harsh on Hojbjerg. He’s not Bentancur or even Bissouma but I thought he did well and was very unlucky not to score with a cracking shot.

Gio had a great game. I'm going with Bentancur though, partly because he could probably do with something positive but also because the game slipped away from us once he went off. Up until then he was excellent.

He's just frustrating in what he does.
lots of passes wrong side of the intended target or too slow and deliberate with the ball.

But agree, that was a cracking effort on goal.

Lo Celso was excellent and showed why he’s first choice for Argentina. Bentancur was running things until hacked down.
One of our best performances of the season despite 6 first team regulars out - bodes well for the future.

Lo Celso was absolutely brilliant. Everything we thought he would be when we bought him.

Gil more than held his own on his wing. Showed he has a future under Ange.

I thought everyone gave their best today with players new to the starting eleven and others out of position nobody let us down.

By the way on the BBC site they rated all our players in 5 & above and all the Villa players 7 & above.
What fecking game were they watching?

The BBC don't rate the players. Anyone that goes on their site for an hour (I think) after the match can rate the players between 0 and 10 and then they give an average score for each player.

If you watched his performance and thought he did well then best of luck to you
He was fine.

This absolute obsession amongst sections of Spurs fans to,absolutely shit on our players for no good reason is not just a bit pathetic it’s also self-defeating. We need PEH, like we need Lo Celso and Dier and all the others left in our threadbare squad and we need them to buy in for the time they remain Spurs players. Shitting on them like this is just so weird and shitty.

Fantastic effort from them today especially with all our injuries

Lovely to watch, real shame about the result but you’ve got to stick the ball in the net more often when you get 3/4 great chances

Problem is we’re going to need a much bigger squad the amount of energy Ange’s teams play with

Somebody forgot to mention that to Levy, doh!

Bentancur absolute class until he was wiped out
Good to see Gio do well
