The beauty of playing 3-5-2:
1. Better control of possession, especially in midfield
2. Allows Kane and Son to play closer together in a 2-prong attack.

However, what's sad about it is that Deki will hardly get a sniff if we persist with 352
If our wingbacks are really going to play that high up you’d think he’d have to get a sniff at the right wing role.

I really liked the 3-5-2 also.
Would def like this more
With regards to Kulu, I'm sure against most sides we could have Kulu central in the midfield 3? Bentancur was awesome today but don't think we need all three of Biss, Bent and Hoj unless the game needed extra control or really locking down.

It seems churlish to deny Son MOM after getting a hat trick from of the bench -the first Tottenham player to do that. Nevertheless though Bentancur was just exceptional. He capped his all round performance with an assist and a goal, his first for us. He’s my MOM. Again! He’s making a habit of being our best player.

Voted for Lloris - despite his wobbles with distribution. Without his intervention - I am not sure Son's goals would have happened.

But, I am not going to quibble with anyone giving it to Sonny.

Lloris - 8 - Several huge saves, can't be blamed for the defensive mess.
Perisic - 3 - Really bad on the right, looked more comfortable on the left but his recent form is starting to look concerning. His corners remain an excellent tool.
Sanchez - 2 - Just completely awful, terrible in possession, stupid mistakes defensively. Him at his worst.
Dier - 5 - Not good, but important goal.
Lenglet - 5 - Don't think he was at fault for the defensive shambles.
Sessegnon - 4 - Bullied for the 2nd goal, bad performance.
Hojbjerg - 6 - Improved 2nd half
Bentancur - 8 - Really good in the 2nd half, scored a great goal coming from winning the ball back, and set up another (Son's 1st?) after again pinching the ball high up.
Richarlison - 3 - Really bad, nothing came off for him.
Kane - 6 - His touch and all round hold up play is really off at the moment, had a big chance to play Son in between his 2nd and 3rd goals but selfishly chose to shoot. Keeps scoring important goals but there's a lot more to be had from him.
Kulucevski - 6 - Excellent assist, he needs to start because he's the only attacker with real guile and creativity.

Subs:
Emerson - 7 - Looked a lot more stable with him on the pitch even if it was unspectacular stuff.
Son - 10 - What a day for him, hopefully we have last seasons Son back.
Romero - 6 - Noticeably better than Sanchez.
Bissouma - 6 - No strong feelings on his performance, as a tactical sub it freed up Son more and made us more resilient. Did the job successfully.

Conte - 5 - A truly awful 1st half and he deserves criticism for how we're generally playing at the moment, but tactical tweaks and substitutions did improve us.

L’ Equipe?

MOM was obviously Son - great to see him back with the old fizz and striking the ball so well. Behind those amiable smiles is a heart of a lion who never gives up.
Bentancur is such a classy, cultured footballer and well done to whoever scouted him.
Lloris makes the top 3 too.
Sanchez had one of his nightmare games at the other end of the spectrum.
Have to say I was impressed with Leicesters determination to play proper football and match us for 2/3 of the game - makes a change from some of the clogging and time wasting visiting teams often serve up.
Bigger tests ahead and hope we turn up at Woolwich - may need to bolster the midfield for this one as at times we came close to being overrun in the centre today. Bissouma coming on definitely improved things.

Bentancur was exceptional.

Bissouma and Son completely changed the flow of the game.

Lenglet is classy.

I don’t think I can give man of the match to anybody but Son (even though Bentancur deserves it for the 90).
Was gonna write something similar but it’s already been said. Reflects how I feel word for word!

First 60 mins was a bit shit in terms of fluidity, passing, synergy and just the overall performance.

The last 30 mins - very good and just looked more comfortable and fluid, more options for passing and Son stretching the defence and we made the pitch wider. Kane was so much better with the formation. PEH was very very good too.

Its not even a tale of two halves but more a tale of the first 60 and final 30.

yeah but I'm afraid we also have to thank Leicester for those great last 30 minutes. It wasn't only our set up, they kinda switched off defensively and just became a bit suicidal by getting so open. Brendan Rogers has lost the plot yet again, and I don't understand how he hasn't been sacked already (he should have been sacked a couple of seasons ago I think).

Undecided on MOTM, in the first half there was some awful passing from just about everyone on our side, a lot of discontentment in the crowd.

It's wonderful that Son understood that if he wants to keep getting picked by Conte he will have to earn it, but Bentancur and Lloris should share the MotM award.

Don't get me wrong, Son's hat-trick was definitely beautiful and made all of us happy, but that wasn't what won us the match today.

Such a great game of football. Proper Martin Jol vibes.

Positives:

- Son (duh)
- Bentancur had one of, if not his best, game in a Spurs shirt
- Felt like the balance of the team was a little better with Rich on the left and Kulu on the right.
- Set pieces were boss. Think there's a legit argument that the set piece coach was our best signing this summer.
- Lloris was great again.

Negatives

- Sanchez (duh)
- Thought Sess didn't have his best game. Some promising moments but was wasteful on the ball at times and weak for their 2nd goal.
- Another weak first half. Feels like teams have figured us out and we're struggling to get our automations beyond the half way life. We only truly thrived in the chaos of the 2nd half once Leicester lost their heads and opened up.

Can't be arsed to analyse too deeply, but thoroughly enjoyed the match despite some nervy moments and don't want to focus too much on the negatives when we scored 6 bloody goals and Sonny got a hat trick.

COYS!

Heart says Sonny, head says Bentancur. And I love Bentancur but you can’t give him an assist for Son’s first goal ? Son dribbled 30 yards and stuck it in the top corner from 25!!

Everyone digging out Sanchez for the first goal conveniently seem to be ignoring the two awful defensive efforts by Perisic that also contributed to that disaster.

apart from that incident Sanchez was actually quite solid and a big threat at set pieces and should have had a penalty.

Perisic’s defending was scandalously bad today and is becoming an issue. Maybe it was being played on the right?

I like this because he is helping us change from a team traditionally weak at set pieces to one who are dangerous at them. The extra goals we could get from set pieces going forward will greatly improve our points total.

Is it true he is only working on our attacking corners ?

Think you need to watch the footage again for the penalty. Sanchez loses the ball in the first place when he tries to control it with his thigh unchallenged. He then gets nutmegged in the 2nd phase and then decides to go to ground in the penalty area when we have a 5-1 player advantage in the box. That was a one man shit show.

Perisic defending was unpolished at times but very far from scandalous. Once you see him for what he is, which is our 4th most important attacking player (after the front three) and a world class set piece player, you should be able to forgive him for not being a defender of the highest order.

Watched it live from the south, watched motd and just watching it again on sky replay.

Sanchez made several mistakes but so did Perisic. Sanchez improved his defending as the game went on. Perisic didn’t.

can’t have one rule for some mate
