Liverpool are still vulnerable for top 4 imo. Especially with CL. If Chelsea win game in hand and beat them at bridge gap is just 4 points. We are in much better position than Liverpool.

It would be hilarious if Liverpool missed out but I don’t think they will.

The Newcastle game in hand at home is looking like quite a useful fixture.

Gundogun has said in the build up to their champions league game that Liverpool are the only team that can beat them in the league.

That’s Poch’s team talk next week done for him then.

anyone else feeling a little edgy by the assumption that its all done and dusted and 4th place at least is tied up and sorted???

Obviously we are in a great position after sunday, but i've been supporting this club for many many years and the psychological effects runs deep.

keep it together, and beat Stoke

Stoke! yep they are shit, but so was Swansea, West Ham (both home games) and Southampton away when we played them. if we don't get a goal in the 1st half and I mean the opening goal, then it will get harder and harder the longer the game goes on. we have stuffed them 4-0 the last 2 seasons away, but at no point did they stick 10 men behind the ball, this season they need to try and get every single point possible.

That’s exactly the dilemma that Stoke are in now, which is to our advantage.

With their current perilous position in the table, they’d have to get every point possible, irrespective of who their opponents are.

We have had problems with teams that ‘park the bus’ but if Stoke have to go all out against us to try and secure the points, it would be to our advantage as we have the players for the counter attack.

As you say, all it takes is for us to get the first goal and the floodgates will open. I’m really confident of a big win for us in this game.

This isn't actually the case though is it? You are probably just making it up. We actually have almost exclusively matches against teams that know their fate by the time we play them. City, WBA, Leicester, Watford, Brighton (that's 5 out of 7) will already know either that they are league winners, will be relegated regardless, or are safe from relegation and will finish somewhere mid-table. One singular team will actually be under threat when we face them.
What about Stoke?

It's not done until it's done. No way should we get complacent.

We need to hammer home beating the blue scum by following it up by beating Stoke.

Stoke should be a tough match as games are running out for them. Now or never for them. It is by no means a walkover.

We need to take the same mentality we had for Chelsea into Stoke match.

Kane has said as much in an article today. I fully back these lads to get the job done. They'll never forget Newcastle away. Stoke game is key, must-win.

if arse win europa, it still means 4th spot is out of CL ...right...?

Only way 4th doesn't get CL is if Arsenal win the EL and Liverpool win the CL whilst being out of the top 4. The odds on all that happening and us being the club in 4th is minuscule.

I'm still wary of Stoke or any team for that matter. What I do love about us right now though is that we have a lot of players really stepping up to a high level. Son, Kane and Erksen in particular with the likes of Dele and Lamela not too far behind.

Also, I'm kind of glad this game is away as with Wembley I do sometimes fear a team making life difficult just from putting 11 men behind the ball for most of the game but there's less a chance of that happening away from home.

I Think teams being in relegation trouble is an advantage. Means they can’t park the bus. Draws aren’t much use now, they need wins.
