I forgot citeh were playing Chelsea today. 9 pts doesn't seem so bad. Was assuming the gap would be about 12 pts.

I have said it in other threads...we have enough fire power & time to get past Chelsea in top4 race.

Spurs & Chelsea have conceded the same number of goals in first 13 games (19 conceded) - more than 1 a game. It is inevitable over the next few months, Mourinho will make us defensively solid. It is also inevitable that with a front 4 we have, we will score. Lampard & Chelsea have had it easy till now inspite of the number of goals they concede. Even with Kante, their gameplay has so many holes .

Mourinho sides usually have impeccable home record. We got to get our home form going and make Lane a fortress.

IMO, our goal should be get close to & better Leicester by end of season. I am confident we will get past Chelsea, feel its a matter of time.

Anyone remember the race for the top four last Season? In March/April none of the contenders were picking up points. We’ve definitely got a shot.

Still early days for the return of this but not convinced at all by Chelsea or Leicester. Both becoming massively overrated imo

Will be very interesting from here. I don’t expect Emery to keep his job after yesterday (that result is a shocker and they were lucky to even get a point) so I expect them to benefit from the new manager bounce soon as well. Chelsea is an interesting one - they look decent but there have been games (Ajax) where they’ve shown they can be vulnerable defensively.
The longer Mourinho has to work with this squad, the better we’ll become. I think he also need to address the conditioning of our players as it looks (to my untrained eyes) that they are knackered from 5 years of Poch’s brutal double sessions.

Given how the table looks now I think we should consider ourselves favourites for 5th. It's mental writing that given how the first third of the season has gone, but that's the way it looks.

Bridging the gap to Chelsea, Leicester or City looks difficult, but it only takes one of them to drop off like Arsenal, Chelsea, United and ourselves all dropped off last season for us to have a chance. It's a small chance, but it isn't gone yet.

Leicester are a very good side indeed and are almost certain to make top 4 imo. Chelsea are the ones to focus on, but realistically fifth is what we should we aiming for and a massive shot at the Europa League next year!

If we want to be in with a shot of top 4, we will need to be within 4-5 points of Chelsea/Leicester by the end of Xmas (that will probably require us beating Chelsea at home).

If we manage to do that, then our run-in gives us every chance to make up the gap.

Personally I think Leicester look the more solid team out of the two and will take some stopping.

If Leicester keep their first 11 players fit then they have every chance, I don't trust their depth personally.

We aren't catching Leicester when they aren't competing in Europe. Fresh players, no injuries, same eleven every week. We've got a chance at usurping Chelsea though, but it needs us to beat them at WHL and at the very least avoid defeat at the Bridge.
