Whilst I thought we could win and was reasonably confident, realistically we were kidding ourselves. If you take a step back, we selected a CM of dier and Sissoko up against a world clsss technical midfield of ballers. What did we expect to happen?

Not to mention our performance away at wolves we were so poor on the ball. Fact is we are playing like shit

Agree about our midfield but they weren’t up against World class technical midfield of ballers. Kante is, but that’s it. Kovacic, Mount and Willian are a million miles off being world class. The fact we made them all look so good shows just how utterly shit we were.

Our next three games should be cake walks. If we can pick up 9 points against Brighton, Southampton & Norwich that keeps us in a good spot and I guess keep our fingers crossed that Arsenal get a new manager bounce against Chelsea next weekend.

We should have beaten Chelsea yesterday. They aren’t anything special and were in poor form. They raised their game and came with a game plan, which for some reason Jose played right in to. Terrible selection and even worse individual performances done for us.

As a simple stand alone midfield two ( I know this isn’t quite the case and is oversimplified ) I suspect Dier and Sissoko would be in the bottom five of the division as a pairing.

To correct - Poch lost his job stubbornly relying on players who can't be arsed or are well off form, and Jose is (imo) trying to balance their value ahead of January where we hope he'll bin some of them off.
We have some good squad players that we aren't prioritising for some reason.

I absolutely agree with you but to be a little more specific, much of the fault for our current malaise is the disappearance of Eriksen, who playing to anywhere near his full abilities, was the major link between defence, the midfield, and our attack. His displays since he made it clear he wanted out have been nothing short of shamefully inadequate. There is NO service from the defence to the midfield to the forwards. The production line is broken and when added to our entire defence needing an overhaul, we can all see the size of the task Mourinho has taken on, and if we can see it, I'm damned sure he can see it too.

Look what Liverpool did, and City. They recognised the problems they were having, and they both bought upgrades to their goalies and centre-backs, and splashed out massive amounts of money to re-structure their entire defences. THAT'S where the bulk of their money went and just look at how both teams have improved. Obviously, both full backs need to go, as well as our goalie so three, maybe four new and better players are desperately needed.

If Mourinho is given the funds (a big 'if' I know...) that is exactly how we should spend it. We have excellent players who are being prevented and frustrated from performing to the best of their abilities due to the lack of balance in the team from back to front, and this puts us on a different level to Arsenal, who are saddled with shit all over the place, thank God.

Gio Lo Celso could very well be the man to re-balance the team once Eriksen goes somewhere, hopefully next week. On the few cameo occasions he's been given an opportunity to show what he can do, he's been impressive, but those occasions have been far too sporadic for me. We've played Eriksen far too much lately where we should have been giving Gio more and more game-time.

Anyway guys and gals, that's enough bollocks from me. I hope everyone's having a lovely Xmas and God bless you all. Here's to 2020 and beyond!!!

Big win against Brighton.

We now go to Norwich and Southampton, where we can win both. During the same period, Chelsea go to Arsenal and Brighton.

I think the gap will be down to as little as 3, heading into the New Year.

Chelsea losing at home. Could take the sting somewhat out that horrid defeat last Sunday

Arsenal losing too, I think a defeat for them today takes them out of the top 4 race.

Hopefully Southampton can take at least a draw!

Jesus effing Christ. We could have been in fourth and three points ahead of them if we'd managed a performance on Sunday.

They've lost to Southampton, Bournemouth, West Ham and Everton in the last few weeks. Only managed wins against Villa and us.

Unfuckingbelievable.

Christ, football is sooooooo weird. How shit were we today. We have so many problems defensively I wouldn't even know where to start with that, but I'm afraid I finally came to the conclusion today, that sorry to say, Harry Winks is shit. Can't pass the ball forwards FFS and frequently gives the ball away (not just today either).

And Moura just needs to lift his head up so he can see what's happening around him when he's running with the ball. He missed a number of what would have been 'killer passes' today and just ran into blind alleys. Needs to work on that aspect of his game, but he was pants today.

Please God we play Gio Lo Celso from the start on Saturday at Norwich, with Lamela, and Dier now that Winks and Sissoko are suspended.

I know my opinion on Winks won't be a popular one, but there's no point me lying about it. I've been watching him a couple of years now, and he creates nothing, but just holds the play up, which is counter-productive.

Sorry mate, I know you're Spurs through and through and I love you for it, but you're just not good enough, not for me. Very happy with the 3 points today of course, but Christ we made hard work of it.

As bad as we've been this season, we're STILL only 3 points off a Champions League place. I mean, WTF is that all about! (very happy though).

And another absolutely world class goal from Dele today too. Well done boy!!

Didn’t he play a lovely ball through to Kane for the disallowed goal? He’s not perfect but he has got an eye for a pass and generally does look to play it forward more often than not, imo.
