Exactly, they should be making considerations for how to play next season, not desperately scrambling around for a way to ensure Liverpool finally win the title. Even when the main lockdown ends, large gatherings aren’t going to be feasible for months. Plus there could very easily be a second or more waves meaning further lockdowns.

IMO they should void the season, and make preparations for a truncated season starting next spring and ending in November In time for their stupid Qatar World Cup.

They could do that but what about the players/coaches and the contracts they signed. Wouldn't they have to negotiate new contracts with every player/coach?

Im not even worried about the PL, its the lower league teams that might truly suffer and even go out of business if no fans can be allowed in until we get a vaccine.

I reckon as soon as clubs/ PL get there hands on those quick result testing kits, then we will see it go on behind closed doors.

If the PL get hold of test kits before other places, mainly in the health professsion, I personally would stop watching football.

500,000 tests a day is about as inconceivable as it gets. I used to work in a busy, London mircobiology and virology lab. Firstly, there just isn't the staff to run that many tests. It's a very manual and time consuming process. Secondly I have found out through a mate that works at The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine that the plan is to ramp down testing as numbers of those in hospital drops. Also there is no plan to role out community testing. This is due to the capacity not being there.
Just can't see how this can all be incorporated. Just not realistic.

My Mrs works for a very large Medical Diagnostic Company and has been telling me the opposite. Capacity is on the up and home testing is in the process of being tested. 500K tests wouldn't be done in labs but in homes - IF it works.

As I've said before it's not up to the EPL no matter what they want or say it's not their decision.

The EPL are clearly and rightfully so shitting themselves over the possible loss of sponsorship and contracts so will say and do anything to make them look in a strong position.

I listen to the joe rogan podcast and apparently he has a private doctor come in and give him and his guests a covid test so they can do the show face to face. It caused a little uproar as he bragged on his show that he had been tested twice in a week. Its good that hes testing people but just goes to show those with money can get access before others.

Sicking, people who have lost their lives trying to help others can’t yet a fucking nobody with a pod cast can, would happily set a burning paper bag of shit on his doorstep. Oh wait he’s murican, explains a lot.

Apparently the government are keen on a return of PL football to boost the morale of the nation. Watching Spurs again this season would probably kill off my morale once and for all.

To be fair, it's not Joe Rogan's fault that we've spent 10 years sucking the shrivelled teat of austerity. Or that we've worshipped at the gaudy alter of neoliberalism for decades.

I doubt Joe Rogan would have outsourced our testing to an accountancy company. link

Totally agree that finishing the season is by far the best, fairest and most likely scenario, with all the money involved, they will find a way, and have been constant in that since the beginning.

I actually fancy our chances now, mad as that may seem.

If the season restarts again behind closed doors with a limited number of venues being used, I wonder if WHL would become one of those. Obviously not for our games (if they are trying to choose neutral venues), but having the NFL changing rooms should allow for a bit more distancing I would imagine.

Use WHL and the Olympic Stadium (assuming it has large changing rooms) for Southern games and St. Georges for Northern games to limit travel perhaps.
