That’s the point isn’t it. Football is non essential. We’re all trying to minimise risk. Adding a football squad plus support staff to a hotel with the existing staff and suppliers going in and out is irresponsible IMO. Not to mention you’re asking the football people to stay away from their families during a difficult time. It just doesn’t seem right.

I'm not saying that it's right but, to be honest given the risk we've already taken on, I don't see that to have a couple of thousand people in a highly regimented, well resourced and monitored environment does genuinely increase the risk that much.

I'm not advocating this at all, but it's probably riskier for us going to the shops. Sharing the air of unlimited strangers inside, with staff exposed to it all and in situ the whole time. Lots of elderly people around. People who could be breaking the self-isolation guidelines etc. etc.

Presumably the people working in their grotesque football campus will be healthy and willing and hopefully they will invest in all the necessary safety precautions plus have plenty of the celebrity coronavirus tests available.

It is 100% certain that when football comes back the games will be played behind closed doors and shown live on tv, the question is when and what season it will be.

I think that some of the reports are a bit pessimistic. At some point this summer they will have to allow millions of people to get on packed tubes, trains and buses twice per day. Not to mention countless other pinch points in town and city centres and in the retail, leisure and travel industries. You can't simply stop half of the economy indefinitely.

How do you then argue that 10k people can't go to watch, for random example, MK Dons in a relatively organised and controlled setting on a Saturday afternoon

I don't know if we will see this season finished but I see no reason why we won't start next, either in August or the Autumn. Perhaps with reduced attendances at larger stadiums to allow some distancing

Behind closed doors will be completely soulless to watch on tele.
Luckily our neighbours have already got a solution to that

I just find it so insensitive, unethical and downright morally wrong to even give traction to the idea of playing top level football behind closed doors given the resource and logistical planning required - those efforts which would be so much better utilised to... hmm I don’t know?... perhaps join in a concerted effort in fighting this virus?

The greed knows no bounds.
Its a combination of greed and people needing an escape, even if temporary.

I wonder if our training facilities at Bulls Cross might be considered for BCD games given its facilities including accommodation?

Not sure - I think they might stick to first-team grounds (even if they're not currently Premier League ones) and maybe St George's Park. Our training ground would have to be fitted with all the stuff needed for different camera angles, VAR and goaline technology which isn't an overnight job.

I expect our facilities are better than those at St George’s Park

In general they certainly are, but St Georgge's is set up with all the VAR stuff already because it was used as part of the trials, hence why I think it's the only training facility that's likely to be used. I could be wrong though - wouldn't be a bad outcome as far as I'm concerned if they just did without VAR entirely!

Just reading the Villa players have agreed a 25% pay cut. Can anyone remind me how much of a reduction our players eventually agreed to, as I seem to have missed that story in all the excitement of recent weeks.

Alternatively, a lot of fans who think they're special because they go to games are in for a shock at how unimportant they really are.

I don’t think anyone thinks they’re special. But you can’t have a decent experience watching a game on tv without any crowd noise. It’s rubbish. You’re in for a shock.

I don't think it's a pay cut, but a pay defer, meaning they will get the 25% they have not taken at a later date. Just depending on when it's been agreed to get that payment might not help a club depending on how long this goes on for.

Yes you're right. Well as long as they collect their hard earned cash at the end of the crisis, that's all that matters.
