Do you think they will cancel the premier League & championship? (Genuine Q by the way)

I just can't see it happening with all the legal cases it would cause and also deciding on who makes Europe next season, Leeds & WBA suing because they are missing out on promised land etc

as mentioned a few times Leeds and WBA wouldn't win a court case, 6 and 7 points can be overturned. if both clubs hadn't had such an up and down December to February and where 2-3 wins from a guaranteed promotion they might stand a chance, and with Leeds they went off the boil this time last season and blew it

No it’s not! He is allowed to say that in midst of life itself

But every other post is saying it. WE ALL GET IT. I feel the same but when I go onto a spurs chat forum to try to take my mind off what is happening id rather discuss spurs and not "fuck football, life is more important, who cares about football, all about family" on a football site!! I get it and I agree but why cant we keep it on topic? There is a general chat about corona on this site. Im just getting fed up reading it when we ALL know it

In one way cancelling this season may be the best thing for lower league clubs from a financial viewpoint.

My local league 2 side Cheltenham Town have stated in the local media that any delay to next season will affect them more as it will cause a delay in them selling season tickets, which is their most significant income boost.

The potential loss of home match gate receipts is not as serious as a loss of season ticket income.

And this comes from a club who are well used to living within their means.

My home town club is Wycombe and they’ve never had as good a season as this one. It’s not inconceivable they could of ended up playing championship football next season had it not stopped. No chance they will have another season like this. Although they’ve got new owners they could be one of the many teams to go under in divs 1 and 2. ☹️

The thing is it is not something you can separate as it is everywhere and impacting everyone. There is no football because of it!
If you are getting fed up reading about it then close your eyes and imagine you are a tree in the wind....

We do deserve a bit of luck. Hopefully, the season gets voided and we go to last year for next season's CL spots.

I think the PL will wait for another major league to make the decision to void, then they'll follow.

I really don't care when it comes back or what they do with this season or next.

However, I do hope that the clubs all actually survive. By now I'd imagine a lot of clubs are having those wage bill discussions. I'd hate to see some clubs go to the wall because of intranigence over wages.

I think suspend the season seems feasible.

The clubs could arrange their matches like the Audi Cup or something if safe to play.

Also if the season is voided then Poch has not done anything wrong, technically!

The season will be written off. We're in this for the long haul. Football might not be back until 2021.

It has to be. Contracts and commercial deals work off calendar years. Not complete seasons.

What happens to free agents?

I thought clubs be quite happy to let go of players and not have to pay wages more than they need to. Potentially more free agents.
However as we went a few seasons without buying anyone I'm not sure it will mpact us!!

To make Liverpool, Leeds and wba happy could we not carry over the current points tally over to next season. Might be the best way to satisfy everyone.

Btw can’t see any football with full grounds being allowed in 2020 personally.

Why have we gotta make them happy? I know Liverpool fans expect everyone to do everything to help Liverpool so that's expected.

Also, Leeds are seven points ahead of third and wba are six points ahead of third, both can easily be caught up. No idea why some people just assume those two teams would have definitely have gone up. Not accusing you of being one of those people.

Unless you then play the rest of the games it's unfair for some teams (not saying its unfair for the 3 you mention)

It's then just a luck of the draw who you have and have not played twice, or home or away.

I wouldn’t 100% rule the PL trying to play the games abroad either in countries who’s controls aren’t as stringent as ours. Not sure the players would be keen though

That will completely mess up the season more. Play half your games at home, and then half in a neutral stadium. Imagine if you played most the top teams at home already, you would be getting an advantage.

That would be madness, can’t see that ever happening

I’m not advocating it as an idea. I’m just saying I bet the PL have discussed it. They’ve wanted to play games abroad for years

Don't think playing PL games abroad would be on their agenda, what would you do with the other leagues, surely they would have to follow suit? The point of playing PL games abroad was to take advantage of the fans abroad as this would have increased the interest and the revenue but that was way before these TV deals were in place so it's never gonna happen.
