Villa haven't shown any consistency in 7 games.

2 wins
2 draws
3 defeats.
Since their brilliant performances against man city and arsenal and they were classed as ‘serious title challengers’ they have won 4 matches out of 12. Out of those 4 matches 3 results were as follows:

1. 85th min winner against brentford
2. A last min penalty against burnley
3. An 87th minute winner against middlesborough

The only comfortable match they have had was against a crap sheff utd.

they really are in a terrible run of form and could have very easily had one win in 12.

Edit: oh and in one of those matches they scored a 97th minute equaliser against sheff utd at home.

And the last minute penalty against burnley was a massive dive

I would hope we go on a little run ourselves now tbh. Not been at it for a few games. If we can get some form up as the squad settles again there are plenty of winnable games ahead of us and a chance to put some daylight between us and at least yanited, if not Villa as well.

Ours to lose now.
We are currently on a little run. Last 9 league games W6..D2…L1…9 games =20pts. Keep that up and it’s 4th no problem
Ange was saying after yesterdays game…we need a week to sort things out. Forgetting they have just had a clear week to prepare for Brighton when we were poor in the first half, same as Bournemouth.
At least now he can make changes if some of them are not on it.

Roy Keane was amusing after the game. Spurs will be worrying , United are just 6 points behind. Said it again later . United are just getting away with it at the moment, Villa missed so many very good chances.
Shaw now out as well as Martinez.
Onwards and upwards.

Not the ideal result for us; draw would have been better. Even a Villa win would have been ok as Villa’s squad is tiring and they are still in Europe which will tire them more. Not sure how much you can read into that result as AV have only beaten ManU 5 times in the PL era. Nevertheless ManU are on a run of 4 wins and they don’t have the hardest run in except maybe for the last month of the season. We’ve got a 6 points buffer and a superior GD but we can’t afford to make any slip ups We have to win our next 2games which are both at home and then put Villa to the sword.

We are on the cusp of a noticeable improvement over our last couple of months, United don't concern me, neither do Villa to be honest.

I would have preferred a draw but the main thing is Villa didn't win.
A Villa win would have been preferable. It would have left ManU 9 points behind with a much inferior GD meaning they’d have to win 4 games more than us to be sure of overtaking us. Villa on the other hand may have gone 2 points ahead us today but are losing steam. Their team, especially in midfield is tiring and still being in Europe is not going to help that. They are also very dependent on Watkins for goals.

But why are you worried about United at all?

You’ve got to remember though that “we are not allowed to have nice things” and United are a jammy team.😄
I would also say they have an easier run in than us.

Exactly. If we can get back to something closer to earlier season form where we controlled the possession and game almost entirely then we'll be cooking with gas.

It's great that we've still been getting results but...

This is why I wanted a Villa win. United are a better team and far more of a threat.

Key thing for us is a good rest of Feb- early April to get points on the board as then we have a very difficult run of games.

I am also 100% sure that the Premier League will reschedule the Chelsea v Spurs game for the 2nd last week of the season - midweek, in the hope of another "Live On Sky" Battle of the Bridge scenario , rather than leave us with 2 very winnable games for the last 2 matches......

Let’s not lie our performances recently haven’t been good enough, now we have the band back together if we can start dominating games again like we did at the start of the season then sure 4th should be ours, if not then every chance Villa or Utd or both could finish above us.

Im hopeful our performances will now start to improve with a full squad back and if so then happy days.

This is why Neville is so up and down.
He is up and down with most things. He was an Ange sceptic longer than most. When he turned it went from 'he is trying to copy Pep' to 'Spurs have got to enjoy him, because if Man City loses Pep...'

There is no in between with Spurs in general, when the media realised that Kane wasn't a one season wonder, the attention turned to how long we could keep him.

spurs last 5 - 11pts

keane/neville - 'united have momentum'

hahahaha. gtfo. they're shit and we'll have to completely implode to finish below them.

You know Ange made that joke first right?
