I heard a fan yell "you fucking idiot" on the TV to what looked like Ade. As much as he has underwhelmed, that is no way to talk to a player, certainly doesn't help lift the team with no one behind them. In the end we are a family, I know no one would say that too a relative if that were them on the field.

Depends which relative. If it was my cousin it would be justified.

Is there a 'this is all a bit embarrassing' vote on this thread? I am pissed off about the result as every single one of us is but my goodness, to be talking about whether Poch will still be head coach after Christmas is cringeworthy. If we are going to be discussing the possibility of this then to avoid any future hypocrisy, I suggest that we remove any thread that mocks other clubs' supporters for similar meltdowns.

AVB and Sherwood were record breaking managers and look how they were treated.

Poch isn't safe.

Wouldn't have gone for Pochettino in the first place, but he is our manager and has to be given time. He has had absolutely no help whatsoever from Levy in the transfer market (apart from squad players). However, on paper we still have a good squad and we should be doing better. Early signs haven't been good and think we'll see more days like this. We all want Pochettino to do well and I hope he gets it right.

Jesus, you know we all take the piss out of 'RAWK meltdown'?

Well, yeah- a lot of people are doing a pretty good job at imitating one.

That's the problem with these threads. It makes us look like a fickle bunch of mongs and just feeds into the growing negativity around the club. We've every right to be pissed off at the way the season's going, but throwing the toys out the pram and starting to doubt the manager after 9 league games isn't on, imo.

Reasonable as in Levy is the type to press the panic button and make a change, perhaps.

Reasonable to offload Pochettino because of results? Absolutely not.

The squad needs a bloody great big overhaul long before we start seriously questioning management - until we've had at least another two transfer windows I'm granting Poch immunity because what's the viable alternative?

Last season we got 69 points on same squad par changes sanctioned by Poch. He has this season at least, but if he doesn't improve on what he has and it's still the same come end of spring, he doesn't deserve a squad overhaul.

I'm sure that Poch will be relieved that you've given him until the end of spring.

Hang on, let's not go down the points route considering this was a major bone of contention over evaluating AVB's tenure.

the "we" part in family does not really mean anything to players like Ade though does it? If he considered himself like one of the family, he would be knocking his bollocks out a lot more don't you think? Fans and players nowadays are separated from emotional commitment to the club. Fans of our club are the one true constant, the ones that will always be there. Players who play for the club do so for totally different and selfish reasons. They care little for what you perceive to be a big thing as a fan.

I'm not happy about the result today, or that second half performance...

But on the whole I havent been dangerously depressed this season. Perhaps it is because I have stuck to my whole 'Give Poch time' thing, its a transition, time to implement philosophy, time to assess and shape squad, the need to shift players out and bring in his own etc.

This is something that the huge majority said, most people seem to have forgotten. But anyway, my expectations changed and it has left me feeling a bit more content and able to notice or appreciate the smaller things.

Ryan Mason has broken in to the 1st team and looks very very good.

Harry Kane, another one of our own, is proving his quality.

We have a top 3 keeper in World football.

Lamela in flashes is showing that if he wants it enough and allows himself to be coached and adjusts in to the PL way he can potentially be a special player, (A lot disagree, I've seen moments of brilliance-ignore the price tag)

Danny Rose, a much maligned player, has improved a lot from last year. A sign that our players can improve with the right attitude and good coaching.

Christian Eriksen started the season so slowly but, ignoring today, is getting back up to speed and he really is a special player- we know that from last season and glimpses again this year.

Just to point out, out of the players I have mentioned; Kane, Lamela, Mason, Eriksen- the oldest is 23.

And then in regard to Poch and the implementation of a style etc, In my opin

It's not about me or what I want, if we finish with some 45 points and no actual progress on the spring, do you reckon he will be there next season? Cue to Moyes and ManUtd for answer.

I sense that you are implying that you will want rid of him by spring under the circumstances that you have described. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Moronic thread, no offence OP.

Poch has inherited a bang average squad of chancers and shirkers. Bringing a new manager in will make absolutely zero difference in the long term. Poch needs at least two more transfer windows to reshape the squad before we can judge him fairly.

I simply do not understand how people think future transfer windows will allow Pochettino to really transform this squad. The one transfer window he has had with us thus far was an utter disaster (not his fault). We brought in players who are not even making our substitutes bench, and we sold off two attacking players and replaced them with no one. There are financial considerations that will make Pochettino reshaping the squad in the transfer windows to his liking virtually impossible. Furthermore, he will potentially have to deal with the departures of key players like Lloris, while also being at the mercy of Levy, who isn't the most renowned chairman when it comes to backing managers with their top transfer targets.

Well, I reckon majority will under those circumstances (some 45 points, no signs of improvement, finishing clear outside top ten) no matter what they say now and no matter how I feel now, reckon I would be there too. Chances are you would be too?

Plenty of people in the summer were all gung ho about giving Poch time and acknowledging that he would need time. Now, rather predictably, we're seeing the same old short memories (I do wonder whether SC is heavily populated with 16 year old fans who don't remember how bad the 90s were). To answer your question, I have no idea how I will feel BUT why be so pessimistic or think about it at the moment? Just be positive and hope that we can finally get out of the sack cycle that we've been in for too long.
