Here here.
It’s a bit like watching one of your kids make a few mistakes (because they’re human 😊) and then deciding you’re going to give them up for adoption because they’re not perfect!

Like any human, we’re fallible. We’re constantly needing to evolve.
So we work ‘with’ them to get to the root cause of the reaction…and then put in place in a different strategy.

We don’t simply dump them because they don’t match ridiculously high and delusional expectations of certain fans.

I did that to my 11 year old son. No idea where he is now 😂

I thought i was on my own thinking that. Perhaps I'm biased and wrong but i didn't think it was a red. He just scrapped Yates with his toes. It wasn't the full sole and studs ala Romero. In any Saturday or Sunday game that's never a red in my opinion.

Not sure I agree with some posts about his form here, I think we will miss him greatly.
Agree mate, I really didn’t think this was a red, in real time the ref gave a yellow yet once they use VAR and slow it down over and over it suddenly becomes a red, does my head in.

A bit mistimed and a tad reckless from Biss but I really felt it was very unlucky to get a red and he was rightfully annoyed about it.

It’s a red all day. Hardly touched him, but it was so reckless and his foot was high. if he did make contact properly could have easily broken his knee.

Yeah I’m a bit baffled by this too. It’s a red every day of the week; he’s got two feet off the ground and he’s hit him high.

Both his suspensions this season have been entirely his own fault, and it’s a problem.

How often do players get caught above the knee missing a bouncing ball? The ball bounces up hence why his foot is up. Its not as cut and dry as its being made out. Its actually a difficult one. He tries to get a foot to a bouncing ball and just misses and catches the player. Even if it's a red it should only be 1 game suspension. I think people are being harsh on him too. It's not a nasty challenge, just a misjudged attempt to get a foot tot he ball. The timing is just unfortunate and if we didn't have so many out or he didn't already miss some games he wouldn't be criticised as much.
But we do have so many out

And he's already missed some games due to ill discipline

He's supposed to be a leader in this team so I'm afraid if he makes a mistake like that which has a potentially big impact on our season then he will be fairly criticised

He's a superb player

He needs to grow up a bit though IMO

The dive I understand criticism for. This was just a mistake where the ball got away and he tried to recover it. It's just unfortunate.

We'll have to disagree on this one

I think it was a silly challenge knowing what the rules are these days

He needs to learn

In that case, I guess we tell all our players not to make tackles anymore just to be sure that they're not going to be fractionally late, because that's all it was.

Massive massive overreactions all round.

It wasn't just that it was a late tackle at all.

If you go on with your foot high like that then you are at risk even if you win the ball and a pro should know that.

I'm all for defending our players and this certainly isn't me saying Bissouma is done.

He's a fantastic player and i think Ange is the best manager for a player like him. If we manage it right he's got the potential to be one of the best in the league.

But part of getting to that level is learning from mistakes. And last night's red was definitely a mistake...and a pretty silly one.

The ball is bouncing, Yates gets a touch on just before him which knocks the ball down, otherwise it's going exactly where Bissouma's foot was. It was just a late challenge. Nothing malicious, nothing rash.

I didn't say it was malicious

But it is rash

If you put your foot up you have to win it or you risk a red

We can all question if that's right or not but at the moment thems the rules and Bissouma knows them...or should

Completely agree and because it was slowed down it was made a red when in real time the ref rightly saw it as a yellow.

I thought it was quite harsh/unlucky tbh.

Should Foden be sent off today then? Goes to kick the ball and just boots Mateta in the shin. Way more force, just as high. No outrage, no suggestions it's a red.

I thought this too, very harsh red but was heckled down as wrong but a few other yids when watching the game…

guess the games rules, Var and refereeing are creating more and more talking points than ever

Ederson as well and there isn't much moaning about that either, and that was surely denying a goalscoring opportunity too.

I thought we had the best buy ever at the beginning of the season, new manager and Bissouma looked mustard. Wow, mistake. The guy has looked nothing but average for months now. And getting 2 reds is just not acceptable in any way you try to digest it. Is he gonna learn? Gonna need another cm if he’s gonna carry on being sloppy in control and keep getting cards.

Just feels like something’s off. It doesn’t make sense to me, with him having reacted so well to Ange’s arrival and the responsibility thrust upon him. Is it too much too soon? Is he carrying an injury similar to Son and Rich last season, that we don’t know about?
