And in between all the names you've mentioned, add in all the failures that have come and gone in that time.I don’t think we all expect every striker to be Kane levels but to be fair over the last 25 years we’ve had:
Kane
Son
Defoe
Crouch
Keane
Pav
Berba
Sheringham
Klinsmann
IMO I’d take all of the above over Richy, so we’ve gone from truely world class in Kane and Son to a little underwhelming in Richy. I’d say most fans would be fairly happy with something more in the middle.
I’d like to think Werner could be that guy. He’s faster and more exciting than Richy and peak Werner was absolutely streets ahead of peak Richy, just depends how close to peak Werner we can get.
Like Postiga, Janssen, Soldado, Saha, Bent, Rasziack (I know I've spelled that wrong but it's late), that lad we got in loan when Berbs left.
If you're going back to Klinsmann, we've probably got to include Armstrong, Iverson and Rebrov too.
And I don't think Pav was a great striker, as much as we all wanted him to be and he did score some great goals, he just didn't score enough of them.
Edit...Ooh, can't believe you forgot old velcro chest himself, Kanoute!
