i think this is a pretty favourable view of bergwijn.

he doesn't allow son and kane to score, they are going to score regardless because they are quality players. plus it's not like those two aren't also working incredibly hard for the team and sacrificing their own game to some extent. son and kane are hardworking but also highly productive, bergwign is currently only one of these - which as it stands is preferable to other options available to us. right now it's fine as we are winning but if something happens to son/kane then where are the goals going to come from? hopefully we won't need to find out but it's undeniable that we are heavily reliant on those two.

Its not favourable as id prefer Moura to Bergwijn in all honesty I think Lucas is a great ball carrier and a touch pacier. I also think it would have been Lamela playing these games ahead of both. Bergwijn must have impressed Jose though to come in ahead of Lucas and even Bale.

I guess if Kane and Son are injured then we would have Vinicius to come in.

I think our attack centres on Kane and Son and everything is geared to create space for those two as the main architects of our attack.

I like him myself and think he has the ability, hope he starts clicking into gear a bit more soon.

Usually Bergwijn makes up for his lack of shooting ability with some good passes and good defensive work. But today he is poor all around. No need to change opinion of him on one game, everyone has an off day.

Lol revenge spamming from @Duck , how pathetic! ??

Lol and now they’ve trailed through my posts and randomly spammed some more - how childish! ??

Seems to have issues with my views on Cyberpunk and my appreciating exquisite words!

He is a garbage footballer, absolute garbage.

0 goals, 0 assists in 8 appearances. Too slow, 0 threat in the final third. Trash.

"m-muh defensive workrate!"
Even another fullback would offer more offensively than this guy.

Yeah, expected more of him in this game. But again we didn’t even try to attack for over 50% of this game so idk.

If Dele can up his work rate defensively, he must see an opportunity here to be part of the forward line rather than ndombele or locelso role

Yep, he showed me good by neg-repping a load of my historic posts.

Quite sad, really.

Though his defensive work was fine today and better than any of the alternatives would've done, but his out-balls were terrible. Seemed to overhit or misplace every single long pass and piled the pressure back on us.

He wasn’t good. Like he was really bad attacking wise, but if people already deem him not good enough, I can’t really help you. He’s been here 11 months. Look at son after a year, sissoko after 2 years, aurier after 3 years (although I never quite fully understood the hate he got last year). Ndombele after a year. Would I have liked to see more, sure, but goals against city and united set the bar really high. Big things are expected of him. I’ve physically seen him live in the Netherlands 5 times. I’ve seen him play live for the oranje. I’m confident this isn’t a Vincent Janssen case or a case of eredivisie talents not being good enough in the prem. He’s surpassed janssens legacy after 60 minutes. I always say this, but imagine if we sold son in the summer of 2016. I couldn’t imagine where we’d be, because he is that fucking good. He may never improve to a great level, but give him time. He’s at least someone who really works for the team and gives his all. That was invaluable against city, Chelsea, and arsenal. It also wasn’t enough v palace. Doesn’t mean he isn’t good enough.
