Ok what the hell is going on. That is one of the worse decisions I’ve ever witnessed, and even specsavers got involved.

That ref should be utterly humiliated with that decision. Bloke shouldn't be allowed near a PL game after that BS.

Take it VAR is also owned by the Saudis?
Guess it's no VAR in a friendly. I'm not sure it's VAR in the qualifiers either.

Disgraceful decision - someone check that mans bank account.

this is why you need to have refs explain their decisions, it is only a friendly but imagine WC qualification was at stake.

We had VAR in our friendly v Scotland and it's a Premier League ground. But I guess each friendly is different. VAR or not that's as blatant a penalty as you will likely ever see.

From BBC

Most Premier League goals since 2020-21 - all stats excluding penalties.

Goals xG Shots Goals - xG
Harry Kane 57 49.4 386 +7.1
Mohamed Salah 53 52.8 387 +0.2
Son Heung-min 52 36.5 244 +15.5

While Haaland's numbers are obviously the same since he only joined last summer, he has already played enough football to show that he is a statistical freak and anomaly, outscoring his already-outstanding xG numbers by 8 goals so far (34 non-penalty goals from an xG of 26.1).

Outside of the recent arrival of Haaland, Tottenham's Son Heung-min has arguably been the best finisher in the Premier League over the last few seasons.

As both the chart and the table here show, Son has scored at around the rate of Harry Kane and Mohamed Salah despite getting far fewer chances, netting 15 more goals than expected since the start of 2020-21 - beating all other players in that regard.
