I don’t think he’s in even half decent form this season but how often do we get him in behind these days? How often do we create an opportunity where we play a pass through channels for him to run onto, or at least create a scenario where he only has one player to beat before being able to shoot on goal. It feels like so much of his play right now is requiring him to carry the ball past about 3 or 4 players before even reaching the final third. Put him in the Liverpool team today and he’d probably have had a hat trick of clear cut chances to score from.
Yeah, I just watched the cut up from his touches and I don't really know what else he's supposed to do. Sure he fluffed a ball into kane but I don't think he had a single touch in the box. As you mentioned no through balls, no balls in behind. We're so painfully slow in our buildup and the whole attack is so disjointed he's got no shot.

He gets the ball and has to run at 2 or 3 defenders.

Yes but how many times should he pass and he doesn’t? In the first 3 clips he should pass twice, once leading to him losing in iy midfield the other leads to him shooting in a position he really shouldn’t when perisic is in big space.
I agree he actually looked better in that game, at least his touch and dribbling was much better. So hopefully he’ll keep recovering and the goals will come.

Article in him in the atheletic. Really need to get him scoring and assisting some how. Very worrying

Too many passes in to him with his back to goal. That’s the complete opposite of his best characteristic, running in behind.

He is a club legend and still a great player, but he has been weakest link in the team this season. Perhaps it's due to how we play, perhaps it's his form. But on all the PL starts of this season he has 0 goals and 2 assists (that hat trick came from the bench), considering his role those stats are abysmal and his general performances haven't been any better. Perhaps couple of super sub appearances against tired opposition would do him good? Not that Conte will do that and start say Gil.

Cant believe how bad he’s been this season, he’s only scored 3 goals all in the one game!

I’d drop him and play Kulusevski and Gill (on his correct side on left) with Richarlison coming back in and also looking at another attacking option for left side.

At least try and get someone more creative to give Kane chances.

A shadow of the player we've seen over the last 4 or 5 seasons. This isn't a blip or a bad patch of form any more.

4 at the back, Kane and Richy up top, Kulu cutting in from RM and Gil a true wide mid at LM. This team needs a massive change, not one or two tweaks.

Reminds me very much of the Redknapp 442 (Kulu <> Kranjcar, Gil <> Lennon), and that's the most exciting football I've ever seen Spurs play.

Son just can't be starting in this type of form. He is like playing with 10 men at the moment. Could obviously play him up top alongside Kane instead of Richy too, but not like this.

It also makes you realize just how key he's been for us the past couple years. The difference in playing level is so pronounced.

Don’t give up on him yet, yes he’s been very poor but 18 PL games ago he was getting the golden boot. This system only gets the best out of opposition players.

I’m gutted for Son. I love him to bits, and he’s a world class player… when he’s on form.

His performances were already poor, but now they’re borderline embarrassing.

He needs time out of the team because I’m worried he’s putting too much pressure on himself and it’s just making things worse.

I'm not, he will be back. Probably takes change of management and team to play some football, but still. Problem isn't Son even if he has been weakest performer this season, problem is Conte.

He's not suited to sitting in that pocket of space. Either Conte changes things to get the most from Son (won't happen) or Son leaves for a club that will. He needs to be up against a fullback and running beyond their defensive line, not coming deep to play 1-2's with Hojbjerg.

Or we change manager and next one adjusts to the squad in hand?

He can't Even beat the first man on a corner, his free kick went to the keeper and he just looks lost.
Next time we can let him sit on the bench~ it worked last time

I’m not sure if it’s the system or what but him and Kane hardly move during the game it seems. They almost exclusively receive the ball with their back to the goal. Perisic is the one making the runs behind.

now that doesn’t make a difference cause I don’t think he controlled a ball with his first touch all day.
