Can't pass a ball two yards. Will always score a worldy as striking the ball will be the last thing to go but I think he's in decline now.

No first touch, heavy touches when passing and game after game gives the ball away in dangerous positions, shows how poor the bench is when he keeps getting picked.
Same happened Firmino at pool, but they had the bench to rest/drop him and give him a chance to get back, thanks to poor recruitment and injuries we do not have that luxury.

He has been poor which makes it even more baffling that conte doesn't play 3-5-2

Seriously worried about him now. This bad form has beem going on for too long.

If we were a club that acted with ambition Is suggest bringing Leao in to replace/push him.

We can't wait for him to snap back into form, that may not even happen.

Unfortunately I really don't think he performs consistently well with the current wingback system. Son likes to be the furthest one forward, playing on the shoulder and I think having a wingback often being that man instead isn't helping him.

This in turn has lead to a run of form that's just got worse and worse, which is quite obviously affecting him and the pressure is making him worse again. He's a shadow of our Son.

Either we switch to a 352 under Conte permanently and let him play himself back into form as part of a 2 with Kane, which will happen imo as he's a great striker playing on the shoulder.

Or, Conte goes and we appoint a more attacking manager who plays 433 (which the majority of our attacking players and midfielders suit, which one glaring hole needed in a creative midfielder. However, most of our defence aren't suited to that, so we need at least 3 or 4 signings just to make a first 11 work, let alone backups and the Lloris issue etc.

The squad is a mess and the system isn't working with the players we have unfortunately. And Son is a victim of that too I think.

I think it's time to cash in on Son.

No disrespect to the great man. I just feel he needs a new challenge he can easily play for Barcelona or Real Madrid on form. Tottenham ain't going nowhere. Imagine a front line of Son Kane etc and we still can't win things.

Has he lost a yard or so of pace ? Seems to have lost some confidence and his performances are being affected, IMO, by having Perisic in the team playing in what was his position..

Hope he gets benched for Richarlison (assuming he starts playing well so soon after the injury). Ideally we buy another wing forward but it's not ENIC's modus operandi.

Football-wise this is the poorest form Son has been in since joining the club. That said, Levy would be very reluctant to sell Son as he’s a marketing machine for the club.

I'm inclined to go with the theory that whilst it's plain to see that he's not in the best of form, we aren't exactly playing well as a team and certainly not free flowing or creative which is bound to have an impact. So for now, for me, reports of his demise here on SC are premature. I have every confidence in him.

Decline is sad. Another failing of the club in recent years is not selling at the right time.
So we should have sold Son in the summer... just weeks after having the season of his life ? ?‍♂️? ... I get the idea in general... but we are in the Son thread :)

I don’t think it’s a physical thing. He’s just not playing with freedom at the moment. You can see with someone like Rashford how key mental wellbeing is. Last year he looked like he was playing with the weight of the world on his shoulders, this year he’s playing as if as light as a feather.
