I'm hoping Jose was just exaggerating the seriousness of the injury, no professional tries to run off a hamstring injury and Son was mobile at HT. No visible signs in the game of a pull either.

Fingers crossed it was a precaution as he felt a bit of tightness and we are quietly confident he can play at Old Trafford.
I think Jose was exaggerating it as it helped to strengthen his valid compliant about our schedule and the risk to players health. Hopefully just a twinge.

The thing is that for anyone who has done their hamstring, if it’s serious you just can’t run. Doing so is extremely painful. See pulisic in the fa cup final, was screaming in pain while running. I’ve watched the first half again, and to me, nothing indicates anything serious. If it was serious, son would’ve known and he wouldn’t of been able to run. Hope it’s just a contusion or a knock around the area.

If it is 'serious' hopefully he'll be back by mid November which is when our run of difficult games start

Our injury luck and record is horrific . How do the likes of Liverpool always have fully fit front three 99% of the time

You only have to see the Man City performances without their main strikers to appreciate how difficult it was last year without Kane and Son .
I would say we need two strikers not just one that is why I would be happy to have Deeney along for the ride .
Son is injured and if Kane gets an injury also we are in the same situation we was in last year and a top striker plus Deeney would be what I would aim for . Last year without Kane and Son all I could hear from the media is that we have a squad and should still be able to score goals
Man City are getting nothing but sympathy for their injury list strange isn't it ?

i did mine last weekend and can concur that I couldn’t run or barely walk let alone kick the ball. Mine is a grade 2 tear so I’m hoping Sonny’s is just a grade 1 and he should be fit for Sunday or at the very least we can stop him going on international duty.

Even if he misses Chelsea and Maccabi Haifa and is back for United I'd take that. We're not in the realms of "must win" games in the PL yet, but getting 3 points against United would be huge, and Son is crucial to us doing that.
I'm afraid we very much are. If we end up on only 5 points from 4 games, that's the biggest trophy we can win this season almost over already.

So so difficult to manage this schedule. I really wanna go far in at least one of the domestic cups, but the el is more important and arguably more attainable. And then there’s the case of not wanting to get too far behind in the league, and this isn’t even talking about the title, but we need to be in the mix for the top 4 and can’t afford to lose many more matches. And these crucial matches are in the span of 6 days. I’m really interested how Jose will handle the squad, I’m confident of an uplifting and successful week.

I sadly think we've got to play a total second string tomorrow. And that's the opposite of my normal attitude. But the other games are so, so important.

That being said, if West Brom can go 3-0 up, so can our second string - you never know!

Part of me, maybe blind hope, is wondering if this is gamesmanship from Jose. Taken off as a precaution, but actually nothing wrong with him, spring him on Chelsea as a surprise.
I've thought of that, would like that, and really hope that.

Son played on with a broken arm so it's tough to read anything in his body language. The guy could have his head chopped off and still play on. I'd still fancy him in front of goal over Sissoko in that scenario though.
