I reckon he took him off to rest him and decided to have a bit of fun and say he was injured. Can’t wait for him to start v Chelsea.

I will say, despite my frustrations at not getting a striker in before the inevitable injury hit, Jose deserves some measure of blame as well. Between Bergwijn, Lucas, Lamela, and Sessegnon there are more than enough options for the wide forward/attacking midfield role that Son has played in every appearance except the hour he played up top against Shkendija. There's no excuse for him having played every single minute, he could have been subbed off in a number of instances.

Hope it won't be that long.

Hopefully it was just Jose saying a long time in the heat of the moment.

He was running hard until the end of that half. If it was a bad hammy injury, he would have limped off. Hopefully it is a minor knock and we will see him back in three weeks at most.

Patchy??

He was scoring and assisting for fun.

Difference of opinion. Fine by me. I'd say comparing his performances v Everton and Plovdiv with his games v Southampton and Shkendija, patchy is a pretty good description.

Why did JM play him so much?

I would'nt of have.
For the same reason Kane plays so much: him and Son are the two names straight into the first 11 if we want to win games, as witnessed by their destruction of Southampton in the previous league game. You can't blame Jose for wanting to pick his best players, and it's not our fault the fixture schedulers are killing us. Thurs-Sun-Tues-Thurs-Sun, 5 games in 10 days... I hope we don't pick up many more injuries over this week.

I think Son and Davies are the only players he has'nt rested this season.

I'm not really trying to blame JM but he must understand the risks.

Guess the only surprising thing about a hamstring injury for Son is that it didn't happen sooner. So many games, so many sprints.

There will be injuries this week. Let’s just hope one of them isn’t Kane.
