I know it's delusional, but I'm hoping the theory from United that they're being used to coax a bit out of us is true and this is Madrid's main source doing some work.

The reality is obviously we won't sign him, but I'm trying to have some hope for this shit time we're having atm

He's clumsy and he gives the ball away but he does work hard and is a good back up who in general will put a shift in and not try a flashy stepover on the edge of his own box like Aurier so he gets a bit of an easy ride. I'm not an Aurier fan because he can be rash but he is a much better footballer than Davies and we all or most wanted him gone at points last season. Because Davies is a bit bland and a nice quiet guy he gets away with some things that Aurier would be absolutely slated for. If Aurier made that weird star jump challenge against Leipzig last year or that absolutely ridiculous pass to Richarlison yesterday can you imagine the abuse he would be getting? Upgrading on Davies is crucial if we ever want to win anything you have to have at least 11 top players not 10 and a functional make do left back.
Theyre both very different players though. Aurier is better than people give credit for but still 2nd choice at best same with Davies. One is an attacking fullback and the other defensive left back which works well within Jose's system. I would happily see them both stay as 2nd choice fullbacks. They're good enough to rotate in smaller games. If we fail to get a left back though I can see Tanganga replacing Davies as a tucked in left back.

No mention of Spurs at all ... lol
Other than Dragon1 and a few less reliable papers there's barely been much mention of us at all in relation to a deal here. Ornstein saying his sources believe ManU are being used to get a bit from Spurs was probably the closest to a great link.

Well, we could probably do with a left back.

I do agree. I am not a fan of Davies at all and I do like Reguilon but there really hasn't been any great indication he wants to come here or we think we can get him. I just don't get emotionally invested in tenuous (at best) links.

We could do with a left back but the money doesn't look to be there. The sales aren't happening and without them several deals won't happen either.

I think the best thing is just to not get too emotionally invested in Spurs. Difficult when you're born into a Spurs supporting family and your first match (as a 5 year old) was in 1979, but that's what last seasons drivel and the bi-annual transfer "will he / won't he" saga is driving me to feel.

Agreed, after the CL Final loss, i decided to emotionally 'uncouple' and not let results affect my mood too much and try to switch off after the game finishes *here i am venting my frustrations on the internet because my girlfriend doesn't care*

We’ve been pinching pennies on our signings thus far and people really think Levy is going to bust out big bucks for a LB, ST and Bale? What planet have you all been living on?

then ENIC should be out and sell the club. can't even pay 23m for a defender and they want fans to pay top ticket prices when were allowed back ? yea goodluck with that.

I knew we wouldn't splash the cash, but hoped against all logic that this would present such good value that Levy would bite. He's happy with us inevitably getting relegated though, it seems.
