If we are in for him (which by the sounds of it we are) how we haven't got this over the line by now to give the kid a bit of time to be incorporated in to the club is absolutely astonishing. Fulham are relegated, and the player wants to come by all accounts. Levy will never change it seems.. I can understand for a bigger deal to take more time but surely this one should of been relatively straight forward. Don't get it. No wonder Poch seems a bit peed off.
Google Shahid Khan. This is no easy deal.

If Rose is staying this season, and off at the end, and we pick up Sess next summer for £15m tribunal fees. This is cheaper and better than signing him for £30 or £40m now and loaning him back.
There’s been nothing to suggest we have any intention of loaning him back.

We wanted him two years ago when he hadn't signed a professional contract but Fulham asked to stay and help them try for promotion which he did then stayed last season but now, having done what they asked, they are making it hard for him to make the move he previously turned down at their request but now obviously would like to make, bad form I think. If he doesn't get the move he clearly wants, when they offer him a new deal, and they will, I hope he tells them where to stick it and walks away next year even if it isn't to us.

Of course you wouldn’t pay 30-40M in that scenario. You’d pay like 5-10M over the expected tribunal to be sure you get your man, vs him going to United or Chelsea on a free next summer.

Moot point since it doesn’t seem to be on the table, but it would be the best structure for all 3 parties.

There is zero chance we sign him on a free next summer. United/Chelsea/City will blow us out of the water wage/bonus wise.

Then he doesn't sign as the deadline is in 6 days and we are left short again with a volatile Rose and Mr Mediocre Ben Davies. Brilliant.
You have an interesting concept of mediocrity (having just seen your first of you 11 posts so far saying that our fans accept mediocrity).

We’re going to get on ;)

Rose isn't "volatile". You make him sound like Quaresma. If we keep Rose, we'll be fine at LB, even tho I do want RS.

Hold your horses! As you say, the deadline hasn’t arrived yet.
My point is that this seems a relatively straight forward deal for a promising young player. It really should of been done by now. I can understand the more complicated and ambitious signings to take time but not this one.

We've signed 1 player (6 months too late as was a like for like replacement for Dembele) in 3 transfer windows. We have 6 days left and whilst other clubs get their business done and dusted we are still yet to get this over the line, and you are not questioning the club on their methods? Blimey Levy and Co really can do no wrong...

Welcome! I can already tell you're gonna fit in just fine here.

It's not straightforward. He was arguably the best player in the Championship when Fulham got promoted, so he's likely to be a star again and a big factor in whether they get promotes straight back up again. Fulham will weigh up the cost of letting him go on a free against the £100m or whatever from being promoted.

Also, Fulham have rich owners and don't need to sell. They're likely to write off a £20m fee (if that's what we've offered, or thereabouts) if having him for another season means a much higher chance of promotion.

We really need him to put in a transfer request and pressure Fulham to sell him.

Pepe signed for Arsenal yesterday, maguire is being wrapped up now for United and theyre still working on a forward. Hardly done and dusted early was it but I dont see their fans crying as much as you.

Not as straight forward if Fulham wants £40m for a player that has only one year left in his contract. And as other posters have mentioned, the player is currently injured and wouldn’t have played any part in our pre-season games.

According to the ITKers, the player also only wants to move to us. Levy is in a very good position to get as low a fee as he can from Fulham, even if it means waiting until deadline day.

I did wonder when there was talk of a couple of players going their way, that may grease the wheels. Onomah, maybe someone like Carter-Vickers or Nkoudou, players that would really take the edge of losing Sessegnon. Fulham actually come out with more quality in depth, we shed some fringe players and get our target.
