How is this not done yet?

No rush to get it done IMO.

Ideally I imagine Poch would have liked him signed and on the Singapore/Shanghai tour, but then he got injured and so that obviously wouldn't have been a possibility.

I assume we're waiting until the dying days of the window; no point laying out upwards of a quarter of a million in wages for a player to sit in our physio room all summer.

I don’t think having Rose and Sessegnon in the squad would do us any harm at all. I personally don’t want Danny to leave

Maybe Rose being back with the squad means he's going to stay and this has shifted down the priority list? Getting Sess next season for whatever compensation we'd have to pay would certainly save a chunk of transfer fee!

Or we could save any fee AND wages by just not even signing him, and if Rose ends up stating then that's just like a new signing really...

Now you're thinking like Levy! ;P

In all seriousness though Rose is 30 next summer so will need to be replaced in the near future even if he stays until he retires, so if we're looking long-term then having Sessegnon lined up would make sense to me.

He's nothing like a new signing 'cos if you were signing the Rose of the past few seasons, then you wouldn't actually buy him due to his injury record and general poor form (barring the final 6-8 games of the last season). If we could go back in time and sign the good Danny Rose pre injuries, that got into the England squad, then brilliant, but obviously impossible.

Also factor in that Danny Rose isn't interested in what's best for Spurs, he's only interested in himself (a fact seemingly overlooked by many a fan, yet starkly illustrated by his comments in the media). So even if he signed a new contract, he'd bugger off next season if the whim took him without thinking twice about Spurs - so far better to be pro active and replace him now while the opportunity is there.

Yeah and he does a Barkley and signs for Chelsea.
Top english talent is ready to committ to us and we still gamble as much as we can. It would be perfect to work with Rose and Ben at LB with Ryan learning by them. Until then he can play occassionally LW or LWB at Cup games.

Edit: And who knows. With Levy not willing to back Poch MoPo could leave and all of the sudden Ryan prefers sth else. To rely on him coming here on a free is such a huge risk.

We just earned an extra 90 m or do in the CL, it is a shame.
Final verdict will be out when the TW closes of course.

I hope we don't leave it until next season.
Would rather get him in and keep Rose. Let Davies and Sessegnon be back ups with Davies also and option to cover Verts.

Or buy him now and loan him back to them for the season if they don't want to loose him just now.

Sessegnon has spent most of his time playing further forward for Fulham. It will take him a long time to adjust and reach the level for FB. I'd also buy him now, keep Rose and let him integrate and learn the position over time. It could well be that Poch see's him further forwards and not as a LB.

Sounds stupid but I find it quite significant that he hasn’t updated any of his social media recently, despite actively ‘liking’ things. It suggests to me something is going on and he is keen to avoid a ‘getting fit for the new Fulham season’ post. That would be the nail in the coffin!

He's probably too busy watching love island.

Can't see this happening if Rose stays, if we get him before the end of the window, i suspect rose will be sold

Fulham have to sell; they aren't letting Sess leave for nothing. They are trying to shake down Spurs for the most money possible. We are equally content to wait till the end of the window. We'll play Rose this week to make clear that we're not gonna pay crazy money and Fulham will twiddle their thumbs, and this will get done at the end of the window.

How is there no rush if this is a player that Poch wants? You would think that they would want to complete the transfer to ensure the purchase and free up time for other targets.

Really don’t understand the lack of urgency.

I don't know a single person that watches that and find it hard to believe people actually do. I passed two girls discussing it the other day in Central London and was it was a surreal experience.

This has fallen through written all over it. Earlier in the window we heard how Levy was Master of Poker and how he had Betis in the palm of his hand. Now it’s Betis calling the shots. Given how stubborn Levy can be he either caves into their demands or stands his ground, walks away and we end up missing out on a key player once again. A supposedly done deal for RS also appears to have gone tits up.

I don’t get how a couple of weeks ago we had 2 £20m plus kids lined up plus GLC and RS, and were monitoring the Bale situation... now we have none of them and we’re hearing the same old penny pinching and needing to sell. This never ends well.
