He just seems so … passive …. Indecisive … neutral. Technically and athletically he has it all. He just needs a positive mental attitude … belief.
Does he have it technically? Not seen anything at this level to suggest that. He has decent pace nothing more.

Played as part of a sturdy defence so well done for that.

Most young footballers are cocky and confident, unfortunately Ryan is lacking that. If he can’t start backing himself on the pitch he isn’t gonna make it with us. He certainly wasn’t bad tonight. And we won. Team won. Him included. Hopefully he plays against Burnley and gets a bit forward more. But I don’t think he’s good enough. Was very hyped at Fulham for a lot of Tap ins. I never really saw anything in him to get excited about in the first place. But he’s young. English and only paid 25m for him. A lot of money 2 years ago maybe. But we would probably get that back if it doesn’t work out.

I'm slowly starting to lose hope. Don't think he expected to struggle as much after coming to the Prem given how good he was in the Championship. All the talent in the world with that attitude won't get you far.

He actually had a whole season audition playing in the premier league for Fulham and looked completely out of is depth

And yet we went and spunked 30m on him

Go figure

His confidence was probably shot after being subbed off early in the Wolves games, due to Contes tactical switch. Seemed like today he wanted to keep it simple and avoid making any mistakes. With Reguillon out with COVID, Sess could possibly feature in back to back games for what could be the 1st time In his Spurs career. With the entire team riding off this ManCity performance, I hope we see a bit more attacking thrust from Ryan against Burnley.

Christ almighty!!!?
Sorry Hercs. But as Spurs fans I don’t think we’ve seen anything from him. If he was a youth player brought through I don’t see how he makes the starting 11. Some players when they get minutes just look class. He’s been playing first team football for 3/4 years. And he does nothing. Apart from that frown thing we all did when we were younger.

He got 2 goals and 7 assists in that season - I actually remember saying before it started I bet he'll get found out and instead he had a great season for an 18 year old kid...

I like him, i really do, but i dont just think his good enough long term, to meek, too weak, not enough end product , i really had high high hope for him... i I honestly think we can do better to push on, defensively not great, attacking again not great very Stevie- esque.... without being harsh IF we want to be challenging im sad to say he is isnt they guy to help us get there too many frailties unfortunately, I wish it wasnt but if you have to be honest and blunt just not good enough for what we need sadly.

I thought he played well today, kept both Sterling and Foden quiet which is not easy to do. Only got found once which was when Walker ran from deep.. I

He was trying to take players on at times. Got passed a few players, seemed to get pulled back or knocked and would lose the ball to loose possession, but I thought personally were fouls. Think this knocked his confidence as he felt he would get blamed for it..

but overall a good solid performance and could see from Contes reaction he was happy with that.

A lot of it is low confidence. A few times yesterday he had the chance to burst forward and really run on but kept checking his runs. I wouldn't say he has any sort of electrifying pace though, certainly not in the Bale realms anyway.

Only 21 though with Royal 23 on the other side. I think everyone needs to lay off them a bit.

He spent half the game playing alongside Conte on the touch line and he seemed pretty happy with his performance. Up against Foden and Mahrez with Silva popping up at times and he handled them pretty well. Wasn’t the MOTM but played his part.

Hopefully last night's game gave him some confidence which he badly needs. There is a player there, whether that's a top 4 player or a mid level prem player it's hard to know but hopefully he takes that form onto Burnley midwk and next weekend before Reggie is back from Covid.

You'll never beat Kyle Walker, you'll never beat Kyle Walker...

Pick your battles, I say.

I don’t see it. He was poor on the ball, and very weak. Sterling just brushed him aside at times

I just think because we won people are overrating his performance. During the game he was the obvious player out there who I think was found lacking at this level.

I just can’t see him making it here. He doesn’t seem to possess any standout attributes at all.
