I don't agree with that to be honest. I think it's something we should see happening far more often.
Totally agree.

Kind of a shame too because it seems like Pep and a few other occasionally are the only ones to try and have players explore other possibilities on the pitch to suit their abilities.

Positions and the demands of those positions are changing and have changed a lot over there past decade. We’ve seen fullbacks/wingbacks going from the least valuable position to arguably the most as they now essentially command the width of the team. We’re also starting to see a shift of classic #10s used as CMs.

For example I always thought Davies could make a far more competent DM than Dier was.

I'd send him to Brighton. Graham Potter has worked wonders with Lamptey, he plays a back three with wingbacks, and I have little doubt he'd get a song out of Sessegnon. Sess is talented enough to displace Solly March and stake a claim to starting PL matches week in, week out. It'd be a perfect fit.

Early in window, there was some story that Ajax are interested in taking Sessegnon on loan.
IMO, 2 year loan deal to Ajax, would do him good

Interesting to see what happens. I would have expected Cirkin to be the one getting a loan move, as Sessegnon can also be used on the wing and we've got a heck of a lot of games coming up. Be interested to see if he starts on Thursday.

I loved the idea earlier in the window of him doing a loan year at Ajax. He looks a bit sapped of confidence at the moment.

A year playing LB full time in a less demanding league with a setup like Ajax could be just what the doc ordered for him.

This is a fantastic shout.

I’d rather keep Sessegnon and sell Davies
As tempting as that is, I'm not sure it would be sensible. Davies has proven capable of coming in when needed and doing a solid job, even if he's not starting week in, week out. Something I'd be very unconvinced Sessegnon, especially since we're not even sure he's a left back.

He hasn't looked confident whenever he's played so a loan & a season of regular first team football is the best idea right now.
He's only young, he moved to a big club whilst recovering from a bad injury then faced a lot of upheaval shortly after arriving.

We need to get over our fear of sending players on loan - easy to forget that both Walker and Rose had Premier League loans before they came back to us and really kicked on. Think it's much better for his development than sitting on the bench / Europa League football.

Another good shout would be Schalke as a loan destination. I think Bundesliga would suit him well and he'd be playing week in week out for a side challenging for Europe. Schalke loaned Juan Miranda at left back from Barcelona last year and have not signed a left back this year yet. They're also comfortable having English players on loan there (see Jonjoe Kenny loan last season).

Sessegnon needs to play in the Premier League week in week out.

He needs to build confidence and learn each week. May it be as LB or LW. He has quite a lot to learn and catch up.
