KWP wanting to stay is odd considering how little he’s been on, but if he is out of the negotiating table, I wonder who’ll be the one we’ll Soul Stone to Fulham to get the Sessegnons.

Onomah?

We as things stand have no desire to sell KWP
I don't doubt that but I was referring to who I thought Fulham might want as the post hinted the player was sitting on the bench on saturday.
If the Sessignon deal hinged on it would our resolve hold or fade?

I'd be gobsmacked if he wanted to stay though.

The worst thing for his career is still being here after this window.
Well he doesn’t want to leave. He is desperate to make it here, and has a top attitude. I know things can change. I know McDermott champions him massively. And the players rate and like him.

Such a dumb thing to say. Fuck me.

The worst thing for his career would be to still be at Tottenham at the end of the window? Fucking hell.

He just needs a chance to play regularly. You have to be willing to absorb some bumps in the road. I wish we’d have loaned him out for a season 2 years ago just to get regular playing time and work those derps out. If getting a top drawer right back in means we have to accept giving KWP a real shot as the backup, it’s well worth the risk.

Thanks for the info. I like this attitude. Worked for Winks.

Another summer bulking up in the gym and he can make a real claim in preseason, especially with Aurier and Trippier potentially leaving.

I’m guessing he means as Poch hasn’t played him in the prem much this year despite the trippier injury rumours?

I'm very curious as to how he'll be used here early on. Winger depth? Wing back depth? Would we actually use him in a back 4 at this point?

I guess only Poch knows. I have a feeling the idea is to eventually convert him into a top attacking LB.

Can see him being used as a rotation/backup along the left hand side if we did get him. Could be a handy sub option as he'd bring natural width and pace. I doubt we'd trust him often in a back 4 straight away.

I really hope this is the plan.

I know there's been talk of him being the next Bale but I'm here hoping he'll do it in reverse and end up as a world class attacking LB!
Watching Madrid play with Marcelo in his prime was incredible to see how much attacking ability he had. He was able to do things with the ball that not many #10s and wingers in the world are capable of. Would love to see Sessegnon turn into that sort of player.

I don't have that expectation of him obviously.

I know rose isn’t world class but he’s what I want from a full back, hopefully could teach Sessegnon some stuff

Yeah Marcelo is a pretty unique talent. Incredible footballer for an LB. Lahm was another player that was almost too good for FB.

Sessegnon looks like he could be a really good flying wing back, and has shown he knows where the net is when playing in a competitive team.

Poch knows a thing or two about English fullbacks: Danny Rose, Kyle Walker, Luke Shaw, Kieran Trippier and Nathaniel Clyne have all won got England caps and played for him.

I will concede that point. Fullbacks tend to be a weird position, and we have an almost comical track record with late bloomers. Rose, Walker, Bale, and to a lesser extent, even Trippier. All underrated at a young age, so maybe I should hedge a bit.
Premier League Young Player of the Year winner Kyle Walker?

I do take your point; Walker stagnated for a few years after his fantastic breakthrough season.
