Poch playing a 50% fit Mason everytime over a 100% fit Carroll says a lot.
Poch will not play a 90% fit player let alone 50% fit. I suggest you quit your futile effort to defend mason with this lame excuse, unless of course your name is ryan.
Poch playing a 50% fit Mason everytime over a 100% fit Carroll says a lot.
Does pain cause a player to lose his skills, technique, positional sense, balls and intelligence? I dont think so. Thst is just a pathetic excuse for a player truly out of his depth.
Anyone know what's happening with him?
Played very well throughout all of the US tour and I was expecting him to get some time in the season, thought Poch might have liked him. Is he injured, or are we looking to loan him or something?
He's slightly out of his depth anyway, but 100% yes it does.
How does that have any bearing now?! The being better the last 2 years not the injuries.I like mason and he has been carrying injuries. He's been better than Lamela was in his first two seasons.
mason is delaying a surgery to correct a problem. He is not really injured. If Poch actually send out players who are not fit to play then Poch is going against his own philosophy. I have watch Lineker played in pain and he scored a hattrick.
He can't turn properly on his ankle, which has a massive impact on all parts of his game.
He also is not settling into a country where he does not know the language...I like mason and he has been carrying injuries. He's been better than Lamela was in his first two seasons.
FFS BC. I usually respect your opinion but your constant defending of Mason and blaming Dier is tiresome beyond belief. He is not very creative, his touch is poor, his passing is bad, his shooting is bad, he's weak physically and most of all he is a headless chicken with less positional sense than a toddler. I like his energy but energy is not the only thing you need to become a professional footballer.
The stats speak for themselves, in his last 5 starts we've lost all 5 games. Our play completely crumbles with him on the pitch as he simply has no clue what to do.
Really not having this 'you cant blame Mason' bollocks.
Ever since he broke into the team his biggest problem has been his lack of positional discipline. He gets forward and gives zero fucks about being caught out of position and leaving a giant hole at the back. Andros Townsend was absolutely slaughtering the space he was leaving behind today. He hasnt adapted, he hasn't learnt.
He isn't good enough, and quite frankly, if he didnt come through the ranks he would be receiving the same kind of (undeserved) vitriol that Erik Lamela got in his earlier career here.
Ryan Mason is a liability and I cannot wait to see him leave this club. Neg rep me if you want for having the balls to be blunt and honest, i dont care. The stats back me up; Ryan Mason in his last 5 starts has seen us lose all 5 games. Bye bye.
I am a football coach and I find it impossible to believe any other professional coaches will allow a player with a condition you have described, to continue playing especially in a system as demanding as the Spurs one. It makes no sense at all. mason isnt even half as important as kane.
LOL you talk so much shit its untrue. How dare you have the audacity to bring into question somebody else's opinion. Just because you've donated over £1000 to this site doesn't make your opinion better than mine or any less nonsensically retarded. Please dont ever @ me ever again.Yeah, because the only stats that count are the last 5 games. Last 4 games Dier's started we've taken 2 points from 12, giving up leads in three of them. I guess the only reason you're not criticising our Defensive Midfielder's positional awareness whilst getting slabbed 5-1 by a wanky 10 man relegation team is your huge brave balls.
Last season Mason was measured against Capoue and he took charge of that roll, in fact he earned his place but doing his own job and capoue's, his attitude was pretty magnificent but sadly I think we can, and therefore have to, improve on him to meet our ambition. The team clearly ran out of steam. One of the problems with a clearly defined first team is the number and frequency of games and another is getting the confidence of bit part players up.
Ryan mason is a player without confidence at the moment. Most players are carrying some Kind of physical problem at some point in the season. Mason has looked like he's struggling this season whereas when he was playing last year he looked good.
If I'd said Mason was great that would be different, but what irks me is the bullshit bias that gets spouted. At half time yesterday it was all Mason's fault, which was bollocks. Dier was worse than Mason that first half, and much worse second half. For a month now Dier's been poor and has been getting away with very little criticism on here, in fact a week ago some whack job was calling him the new Xabi Alonso in the Summer transfer wish list thread. Dier and Dembele were fucking dreadful second half against Chelsea and second half against West Brom.
Last year Mason was part of CM2 with another (20yo) rookie having their first full season as EPL players in a transitional side that didn't work like this team works and didn't have the benefit of the likes of Alderwireld and a safety first Walker, yet still managed 5th place and generally, without being perfect, and both having faults to work on, performed pretty well pretty consistently.
Now he gets brought into a floundering team, carrying an injury and all of a sudden he's total dogshit and not good enough to part of this squad ? A year ago that was Dembele.
Our collapse these last 4 games is not Mason's fault but I'll tell you right now that I very much doubt that we would have gotten only 2 points out of 12 with Dembele and/or Alli instead of Mason.
And whose fault is that.
