When you wonder what position will play he goes and scores a goal. Definitely has that in him.

Looks like he always has time on the ball (even when he doesn't)

That's the mark of a quality player.

Some players look rushed when they're alone ;)

Was fantastic today. Elevated the midfield especially in the second half. I know he’s good as a dm but I feel he excels further up the pitch. You can tell CM is his natural position.
Big Bents fan me, but this was not him at full throttle.

Only 2nd game after Cash injury true, but he can be devastating in peak form.

He can play all 3 midfield roles. And he has had to recently.
Guy is pure class wherever he’s asked to play. Incredible today; so much elegance and intelligence.

half fit and still dominated, both offensively and defensively. so so good.

ran out of gas at the end, otherwise we might have created even more chances.

because Berba was guest pundit on my tv, just got reminded of the observation that Lolo is like Berba in CM

I rarely watch the Italian league. Was he really as good for Juve as he has been for Spurs?

They moved him on for Zakaria who made 11 appearances and he is now playing for Monaco.

Disastrous bit of business for them.

At first yes but then no. Essentially they often switched him to DM from his natural CM position due to necessity and he just started to be incredibly inconsistent and error prone. A number of very costly mistakes led him to being more a rotation option by the end. When he first arrived he looked extremely exciting but by the time he was sold he was a shadow of the player you see today. There were a lot of different factors involved tho and Juve were a mess of a club both on and off the pitch.

@jjaak why the Wtf?

Agree with a lot of what’s been said. He’s absolutely brilliant.

There were other threads where people talk about our best midfield trio. Two things:

1) he’s definitely in our best trio - that’s not controversial
2) the composure that he has in the opposition box: it would be a shame to play him as a DM and lose that. He plays 8 for me. 6 only when we really to push forward

Ran the show. The calmness he has on the pitch is a quality you can’t teach. Does everything at his pace and influences the game with every action. A real top class midfielder.

I'm still not 100% sure where he starts when everybody is fit. He is one of the first names on the team sheet, but I can't decide if he's our best option at #6 or as one of the #8's.

For me, at the moment you just get him, Sarr and Maddison on the pitch and make it work. Let the talent find a way.

Ange:

With Rodrigo Bentancur, performing like that after having to fight back from a second injury on his first start in nine months, it says plenty about him doesn't it?

Yeah outstanding. It does. He's another one who, the initial diagnosis he should still be out from what we looked at as a recovery time. He came to me a couple of weeks ago and said 'look I want to help, I need to play, I need to help these guys'. He could see we were going through a rough time.

It is a testament to his character. He is an outstanding person. Part of the reason I made him skipper in the last game was just to reward him for the person he is and again he was outstanding today I thought. When we needed to get on the ball and show some composure he was outstanding and again he's nowhere near the fitness levels or the level he wants to be, but he will get there and when he does he'll be a fantastic asset for us to have in the team.
