Well no but i can see why others may - its the 'n' before the 'c' that i feel when you say it your tongue wants to skip over so you want to say bentacur instead of bentancur
I'm the opposite, I kill off the other n and keep writing Betancur.

Can any of our Latino members please confirm how to pronounce his surname (and whether the first n is silent or not?)
Niche question (i know).

Spent a couple of years in South America and generally everything in Spanish is completely phonetic (regional accents permitting) so I'd assume it's pronounced exactly how it looks with no silent letters.

If anyone knows better please correct me, though.

Having a read though the Juve forums makes a bit of mixed bag but none seem to concerned about losing him or KuIu, I don’t watch Italian football so some know much about either of them.

Juve fan here. Bentancur was a solid player. Didn't set the world alight but never had a bad season and always looked pretty comfortable. There were moments where he looked like he could break through as a wonderkid but after having an amazing game he'd go back to being a steady performer. One of those where if the team is in good form he is contributing to that success, but when struggling as a team he's not going to pull everyone out of the mire like true world class players do.

He's good enough to slot into our first team though and is a smart player so I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do. Perhaps this move will push his development forward.

Kulusevski isn't one I'm as excited about. A decent player that has some great moments but is way too up and down in terms of consistency. Hasn't developed as expected and will be more of a gamble out of the two. But this is football and weird things happen. He could end up being the next Bale whilst Bentancur turns into a Capoue. You just can't tell.

Appreciate that man, and echos pretty much what I’ve been reading.

Nice write up. I’m hoping that Kulusevski can develop that consistency as he’s still just 21. With young forward players that’s always the hardest thing, but he seems to have ability at least. Hopefully it clicks with us over the next few years.

Thing is with people talking about consistency, he’s only 21! How many footballers at that age are consistent? not many!

I don’t really see that as a stick to beat him with. He may or may not be a success here but the inconsistency part has to be looked at with his age. Consistency should hopefully come as he matures. I am more interested in seeing how much potential he has, how well rounded technically he is, stuff like that. I am hoping the talent is evident and the consistency will come later.

The Juve fans seem to say he is great when given the space, technically very good but is extremely left footed. Like everyone else I hope he really does kick on with us.

I watch a lot of Juve! And have a lot of Serie 1 friends. Both players did not perform as you would expect due to the strange set of managers. Pirlo, which you know about. Then an untrained defensive Allegri, who restricts players etc. I believe they will excel and thrive under Conté and the Conté system.
