Perisic and Porro can cross well and he will score some headers thanks to them. I really hope he can improve the rest of his game. He should gain some confidence now and do better.

Thank fuck he scored. His body language after just 5 minutes with his first bad touch was shocking, it was bringing me down. Christ knows what it does to the players.
Hopefully the goal will at least raise his confidence a bit.

Good header but yet again he is too erratic to rely on with the ball at his feet. Midfielders now being asked to look for the through ball on the ground to split the CB need a striker who can take the ball in his stride. Scarlett messed up a few moments of his own with the forward pass on the ground but he has the excuse of being a kid.

Glad he scored, but he was still awful tonight. His touch and hold up play was really bad. He seems so weak mentally also.

Yeah nice to see him score, but he was as bad as anyone out there tonight.

Hopefully now he has that monkey off his back though.

Sooner or later Ange has to realise, he’s not suited to lead the line for us.
Especially if results continue to go against us.

Just on my way back from the game. Was 10 rows back and the players were warming up in front of me. He just looked surly and unhappy, didn’t smile or look like he was going to enjoy himself. As Jerry Maguire told Rod Tidwell, he needs to get back in love with the game, remember why he started playing as a kid, play as if it’s fun and be a bit more relaxed. Complete opposite of Sarr who was running around like a two year old and even went in goal during the warm up, just looked like he was happy to be there and enjoying himself.

Nah not for me, he’s going to join the list of strikers that contains soldado, janssen, rasiak rather than the one containing Defoe, Keane, adebayor.

We need another option up there. Going into the season relying on him (and son as back up) is asking for trouble.
If the player links are true and come off I think Son moves to CF, 3 fluid interchangeable forwards each carrying a goal threat rather than relying on Harry or one other striker

Goal aside, he was awful again tonight. It's kind of heartbreaking with the sale of Kane, the demise of Son, and to know that he's the next best thing we've got. I can't help but think we're in a for a rough few years attacking wise, even with Ange's system compensating.

I think the biggest thing I took from tonight's game was with ten minutes to go chasing the winner in a cup tie Postecoglu took off Richarlison our lead striker.
I really only see one way of reading that.

If someone told me this shithouse merchant when he was at Watford and Everton was weak in mentality I would laugh for days.

And seeing is believing.

That he picked up a knock and struggled to run?

I hope he can pick up on the support from the crowd during this form, and use that to power through. Some of the biggest cheers I've heard were reserved for Soldado, Janssen and Pav, etc, because despite everything we really want our strikers to do well.

It was a great cross and good finish but we need another option to him. I’d be happy if that were Scarlett if he can step up.

Scarlett looks too slow for me unfortunately. It's a shame we are already out of one cup where he could potentially gain experience and minutes to prove me wrong...
