Looks like the ‘I told you sos’ are out like clockwork. You lot must be delighted, you must’ve been expecting to wait at least a couple of matches before rejoicing in our player having a bad performance.

Good for you, the world needs happiness.

Thought he'd been brought in to sit in front of the back 4 & protect it, but too often he was no where to be found. Allan really showed him what he should be doing.

Maybe it was because Winks was playing, but whatever it was it was a poor performance.

And once again Winks gets the blame

I didn't think he was that bad but at one point he was our most creative midfielder and that's where the issue lies. I saw him give it to Winks on the edge of the box, who played it sideways to Sissoko, who then gave it back to Winks, who then gave it back to Hojbjerg where it started.

If you are going to play midfielders like him you need creativity around him. A midfield 3 of Winks, Sissoko and Hojbjerg is probably the least creative midfield in Europe.

I was unpleasantly surprised at how slow he was. He was good at pointing though, and he’s got some nice arm tattoos as well tbf.

Southampton fans said he was average and was not as good as Wanyama....but yet because he is signing for spurs, fans on this board disregard fans who have watched a player for a few seasons because it doesn't fit their agenda which is Spurs would never sign a bad player.

Is there really any Spurs fan who thinks the club incapable of signing a poor player?

I'd be very surprised based on transfer woes, some spectacularly bad, of the past 10 years.

I didn’t think he was terrible, like some on here. He won the ball well, pressed aggressively that led to others recovering the ball. He needs someone more dynamic next to him. GLC who likes a press and has a bit more quality will be the first choice partner, and that could be promising.

This board every transfer window.

Fans on this board are still trying to convince themselves Tanguy was not a waste of £55 million. On what planet should we be trying to convince ourselves that a £55m player should be in our team. He should be the sodding mainstay of our team at £55m!

Obviously not encouraging, and we expected him to be able to slot straight in. Let’s see how he gets on over the next few weeks.

I think its very harsh on saying Holberg was bad, he had an impossible job, he had no help he was literally left to be the only midfielder by himself. Its was like the middle of the park was left only for him, although he wasnt but it seemed he was alone in the middle to fend for the while team.

I agree to some point - I actually feel that getting Lo Celso alongside him, drop Winks and then look to integrate N'Dombele further up the park where he can slot in where Alli plays and be less of a hindrance in the middle and have a much better influence creatively. I just can't see Jose seeing it that way though.

He was doing exactly what Mourinho has had him doing through pre season. Quite what that is meant to be is a bit of a puzzle to me but it seems to be what Mourinho wanted him for.

When a team who are a mid table side in the Premier League loses their captain and their fans couldn't give two shits..must say something.
