He seems to have a good enough combination of skill, strength and knowing how to use his body. He also seems to make quick decisions when it comes to passing. Needs the movement from his teammates to be on point too, but I think he’ll be at ease receiving the ball from defence under pressure, even if sometimes he takes a no nonsense option afterwards. Thanks for posting.
I do think we've got a bargain here. The only question for me is how well he deals with pressing teams when sitting in that deep position.

Sadly until our entire team starts moving properly and being open to receive a pass in the right places, we could have prime Hoddle in midfield and our transition play would still be ponderous. Under Pochettino this was less exposed because our press ensured teams were on the back foot the moment we won it, it would almost be impossible to screw up our attacks, but really it’s been an issue as long as I can remember.Lucky for him, the movement from our attacking players is second to none.
That went wellGlad to see him starting. Hope he has an awesome game, owns that position and bosses the midfield.
Looks like the fans who watched him every week for 3 years might have known what they were talking about when they said he was bang average.
Who knew?
If the right direction is the Championship, then yes.It feels like PEH is the step in the right direction for the midfield but he's still not a DM.
