It doesn't make sense how were all lead to believe PEH is what the teams been crying out for. People are prepared to give him game time... remember this is a player with EPL experience YET we not giving that same pass to Ndombele.

The midfield selection against Everton was so damn poor

Since when do we judge players on their first game for the club. Some of the posters slagging off PEH and Docherty after one game are defending Ndombele after a year of contributing nothing. We lost one game of football and some of the shit being posted today is downright embarrasing.

Unfortunately, like some of the shit being posted today, big chunks of the performance were downright embarrassing!

He was awful but it's really hard to judge, because of the collective malaise that's permeated our squad for about two years now.

I am not at all confident Mourinho will get the best out of these players.

We were told because of his EPL experience and him being a leader it was a no brainer. People would rather give him time but to hell with Ndombele... Funny

Not suggesting your saying any of this
I do agree with you. Similarly Dele gets off lightly compared to Ndombele considering Mourinho has publicly called Dele a shit trainer and Dele's in game attitude is often lethargic and slow.

I think my point was that we'll see the best of Hojbjerg when he's playing with people who actually want to progress the ball forward, like Ndombele and Lo Celso and not Winks and Dele.

The fact that he took it on himself to try and create - when he has said many times that he is not that player, and that he is the player to help the others shine - says a lot about the rest of our team. He played CM, and creative midfield at points today, he literally should be the ball winner that doesn’t go further forward than the centre circle. The way Parker played for us. Unfortunately for PEH, he doesn’t have Modric or VdV in the team to give it to. He has Sissoko, Winks (whom I actually rate, in a midfield three) and Moura. Son and Kane were both crap too. We are too slow with decisions. We can’t counter attack if everyone waits to be feckin tackled. We need to move it quicker.

It was the wrong move by Mourinho taking Dele off to be replaced by Sissoko. At least with Dele you'll get guaranteed assist and goals progressive plays that win games when played in key areas ie close to Kane.

I don’t think Mourinho could even justify that substitution. It made us immeasurably weaker and ultimately cost us the match.

Did well first half, pressed and positioned midfield well on the defensive phase.

Found himself having to play ahead of his position to try and push the game forward, because of bad positioning by Winks and, later, by Sissoko limitations.

Came back to his role when found Ndombele's feet to place the ball.

Not the best start but can't judge him on only one game.

Not afraid to get stuck in and take a card. Something we have lacked over the last couple of seasons.

The whole team (incl the manager) had a bad day.
Let’s pick ourselves up, dust up and look ahead to the next game. We are not going to win every game. No team does.

I said he was dogshit yes, and also made sure I stated that so were two players widely regarded to be our two best. I also was fully supportive of his signing, so it’s hardly the same as all the trolls rubbing their hands with glee at the chance to rampage in with their ‘I kNEw hE WOuld BE A SHiT SignINg!!&@“*^!!’

But you already knew that didn’t you ?

I mean tbf Soton fans have been saying he’s bang average all along. So that’s not exactly a new opinion. I can well believe lots of people were indeed saying it beforehand. Ultimately we can put the best defensive midfielder in the world in there and they’re still going to struggle is this absolutely tactical mess.
