So today is the day hopefully. Its times like these I miss Ben hiding in his tree outside the training ground.

I just bought a crap used car. I haven't received it yet, but even if I know the experience of driving it will be rather boring as I wait I'm getting more and more impatient. Reminds me a bit about Højbjerg. Not suggesting he is a crap used car, but it might feel like that when we are starting to realize how poor his passing is :D

Why'd you have to go and ruin it for everybody??

People are talking about him as if he were Freund or Brown. His passing and technique are fine for the role he plays, and will be better with us as passing stats are affected by the quality of the player receiving the pass. He isn’t going to transform into Hoddle once we get him, but he doesn’t need to. He’s being signed to make sure we win the ball more often, in the right areas, so that we can spring attacks effectively. We currently have nobody to do this, and so when another team attacks us the ball almost always reaches our penalty area.

We'll see.

I'm all for getting Højbjerg. I like him. But I do believe there is a big question mark around his passing playing for a team that will have to expect being in possession against "smaller" teams. For me it is not a given that Højbjerg will be the one that always play.

We're not signing him to be Pirlo, we're signing him to shield the defence. Literally the type of midfielder we've been crying out for since Wanyama's legs turned to papier-mâché. The "concerns" about his passing are coming from bitter Saints fans and passed on to Spurs fans who, for some reason, always need to have something negative to say.

I agree it’s not a given he’ll play every game but I imagine he’ll play most. I imagine that apart from matches v the most defensive sides we’ll have him and Lo Celso as 2 of the 3 midfielders predominantly.
