Semra Hunter La Liga TV, just reported nothing concrete for Bellerin as of yet, highlighted more of a hope at the moment.

Still think we get him. They're close to getting bellerin.

Another example though of our stupid transfer method of doing "big" deals right up until deadline.

You didn't see my post a few above your's. ;)

Think she's a reporter/broadcaster/journalist.

SSN had a live link to her within the last hour. How reliable, or behind the curve her info is, who knows, but she certainly gave the impression that nothing was close at all.

On one hand, it's comforting that every other outlet is staying it's still on but with some hitches.
On the other hand, Ornstein is probably the worst one to have stating that the deal is off ?

We clearly don't have all the facts, some say the release clause expired and some say that its only active in the summer. There was an agreement supposedly in place and that's changed

What I would say is if they have completely reneged at this point there is probably another offer on the table.

Total guesswork on my part though.
Karma, Everton have swooped in and dorked us at the finish line.

This is what baffles me. OK fair enough if in this instance, it's not directly Levy's fault but he's created this legend around himself, he's traded on that for far too long and (IMO) his style is now old hat. I't wouldn't surprise anyone at all if you could trace these current issues backwards and end up at an unwillingness to pony up. Of course there's negotiating to be done but can it be taken too far?

As others have said, you want, you buy, sometimes haggling and brinkmanship can be taken too far. And a tactic used too often. Edging isn't as popular as it once was.

In this instance, is Levy being Levy'd. Again. His ways are too well known and football has wised up to it. This is just one of the reasons his time is up. We need fresh ideas, new methods and someone with a clear and measured idea as to the ethos and philosophy of the club who is willing to implement those ideas and take the club forwards.
Haven't we used an intermediary for this deal? I want Levy out of football matters but this pop at him feels a bit shoehorned

Ah wouldn’t say so, context behind that one, is he agreed to join with lampard as manager, that changed!

we’ve had it done many times over the years.

I mean this bloke said goodbye to the fans yesterday ?

probably another Chelsea bid

If thats true then its such an odd release clause. I guess it makes sense from a SL prospective in that it doesn't leave them short. But it's still odd and really Porro's agent should have informed us of that if SL were intentionally withholding it.

If they've reneged this late I just cant see us coming back to the table and think we'll walk away, be very surprised if this gets done now.

But if we agreed everything on a price, then the selling club move that price again. How is that bringing it on ourselves?

It's bringing it on ourselves by yet agin dicking around at the end of the transfer window when they have us over a barrel and we don't have time to look for an alternative.

It's bringing it on ourselves by waiting until the end of the 3rd transfer window since Conte has been here to finally try to buy a quality player in an extremely key position where our current players are not of the required quality.

I am pretty sure its Madrid asking Sporting to wait till summer.

By most accounts now, he had a release clause that expired 12 days from the end of any window. You want the player, pay the price and act like you belong at the big table.

It's a bit boring that every time we fail it's the other club to blame. Other clubs have managed to buy players from sporting or inter or Aston Villa without trouble.

Stop re-writing history

The villa owners came in much.later

The previous owners, the xhinese ones, were willing to sell for 25m

Little midget wanted to fleece them till dateline day thinking they will be desperate and keep making ridiculous offer like 3m + Onomah in between

The new owners then turned up and told Levy to get lost
Trix doesn’t agree with your version of events mate.

We have messed about all month on this deal.

In January, you have to pay more and make it attractive to the selling club.

Chelsea are swift as they tend to pay what the selling club wants but they get who they want in.

spurs have the money to pay the entire fee now up front if they wanted to, or in 2 instalments.

but instead we penny pinch, trying to be clever and piss about, annoying the seller and more and more often, the seller will pull a trick like this.

brought it on ourselves as this deal could have been done on January 1st.

So much guesswork and assumption in this post.

With a release clause it was absolutely true. Our choice not to exercise and seek to negotiat.
We’ve had 3 different stories about the release clause. And no-one is closer to knowing what the actual truth is.

The key thing in this forum is taking things with a pinch of salt. Many have forgotten this.
